Perhaps the areas to watch are what the federal prosecutor (Smith) and the Georgia grand jury decide to do. If they were hesitant to indict a former president because it has never been done before but Bragg has already done it they may be less hesitant to proceed with indictments of their own.
His defense team should demand their money up front if they want to see any of it if this thing goes south.

Exactly...First there will be a formal indictment, followed by a motion for dismissal of charges. And assuming that the motion is denied then you have the long process of determining the time and location and jury selection. And if convited years and years of appeals
In the meantime we wait to see what Georgia and the DOJ decide to do. And even if he is convicted on serious charges he'll be at or almost 80 so do you really think he's going to serve any jail time? He's just going to be a national pain in the ass for the next... God only knows how long.

He isn't going to serve any jail time for any of it, you are right, however these are show trials to strike fear in political oppents, if you grew up during the cold war, you know what show trials means, and the regime basically telling you who can vote for

We’re not a democracy, we’re a republic. And it is a good thing, however we only do it to pro-USA officials anymore. Lots of democrats the last 15 years getting away with a lot of crimes and not even getting investigated for it.
