You arent a minority, you arent a victim, and getting arrested in front of all your friends so you can act like a martyr and get your picture around on Facebook has nothing to do with any sort of meaningful protest.
The blacks who engaged in passive resistance and sit-ins during the civil rights protests in the South were risking their LIVES. You arent risking a damn thing; you will be cited and released in a matter of hours, with no fear of being beaten or even killed at the hands of racist cops and Klan members. You are doing nothing but tying up police resources and making yourself look "cool" in front of your friends. If you want to make a REAL difference, then quit being a poser and start going door to door in minority neighborhoods with voter registration forms. Run for office. Volunteer at a food bank or a homeless shelter. Put something on the line and do something that actually matters. Getting arrested wasnt an empty fashion statement for the blacks that did it in the 60's and it shouldnt be one for you today.
