True or False: You are given 5 days towards "making book" if you have worked during Peak season?

Not true, but if you are continuously in your qualifying period, that time does count. Know people who qualified the first day after the free period, because that time accrued.

Did they start before the beginning of the free period? If so then yes they would get seniority the first day after free period ends.

In the Central Region, there are 2 so-called "free periods".
One is the Seasonal Period contained in Art 1 of the CRSA, and the second is the Vacation Replacement Period provided for in Art 16 of the CRSA.

During the "Seasonal Period" (Peak) any days worked during said period do not count towards your 30 in 90 if you work past the designated time frame.
It can be extended by the Local and is truly a free period for the Company.

During the "Vacation Replacement Period", if you work one day past Labor Day, all of your days prior count towards your 30 in 90 and that first day worked after Labor Day then becomes your full time seniority date.
This period cannot be extended by the Local.

In this region, it is important to recognize the difference between the two periods, in order to exercise your rights.
