Ups has a plan in place to replace us if we end up striking.

UPS always makes up contingency plans during a contract year, this is nothing new. These plans are well thought out like all the others, so we have nothing to worry about. Cutting pay, benefits, and increasing the workload has worked so well in the past, why try getting better employees?

Goof luck UPS. They apparently haven't heard that the unemployment rate is 4%. And 99% of those unemployed couldn't do the job. And then how many of those few people left would sign up for the starting rate? Is the contingency androids?

I heard that last strike. 3 runs a day out of a 80run building. It lasted 4 days.

UPS is a company that spends over 1 BILLION each year on technology for black and white back-up cameras, ORION (joke), DIADs that only show text like its 1985, etc. etc. They still want us to use our personal phones and print out paper maps!

The only thing they care about is trying to track us every split :censored2:ing second of the day. When we strike this year due to concession demands in a strong economy with UPS getting another billion in profits due to tax reform, there aren't enough people in the country who would put up with this :censored2:it that UPS makes us do.

We will get what we stand up for this contract.

UPS thinks we are all replaceable? Let them drink the kool-aid with Elon Musk and Jeff Bozos if they think this is the future of package delivery:

My center can't seem to hire and keep two new drivers. Don't think they could replace 200.
Not to mention all of the part timers and feeder drivers. With how much volume were moving now and with how many more people they've hired because of Saturday ground. There is no way. Like you said. They can't get people now. We have bid sheets up for 24 full time driving spots in my building. With about 10 signatures. Just wait until they tell the scabs they all have to work Saturday as well. There are more workers now than ever. Ups is dreaming if they think we can all be replaced over night. Don't you think if they could replace us they would have done it already. Why wait for a potential work stoppage.

Worst case senerio for corporate. They would get it from boths sides of the political environment, Trump’s working class and Bernie’s left wing socialists. Face it the working class hero against the elitist corporate world in the USA is not much of a contest in the media area. If they closed shop it would bring America back together again. Unions would have a field day, do you remember the “97” one we were on the news 24/7. Hoffa and his negotiating team better have that “Make My Day Attitude” if it comes down to that.

The last company wide strike lasted just short of three weeks. VERY few employees crossed the line. Probably less than one percent. Of that one percent I would say three fourths of them weren’t with the company two years later. For some reason the company didn’t like scabs and found ways to get rid of them.

if that supervisor wasn’t district IE or higher, his thoughts and opinions are literally worthless

i imagine if a strike happened again we would basically just try to keep the NDA/EAMs moving and refuse to pickup, move, or deliver anything else

on the plus side at least i wouldn’t need to take a handcart out
