Hardly "Incompetent" ... I've seen many driver's "reasoned thinking" on here.
As for devious and underhanded, pretty much the same observations.
Not as many mangement get fired for "devious and underhanded" as non-management.

Double standards rears it's ugly head once again.;)

The problem comes from the shipper not relaying that information to the customer, which many do with surepost. Also the service being used in ways not intended by management as a dispatch tool.
Center level management doesn't have the ability to pick and choose what we deliver and what gets redirected, I.E. controls all of that.

The shipper agrees to the arrangement and signs an agreement. Deferred delivery = bigger discount. This is nothing forced on the shipper - it's their decision. The shipper is happy to get lower rates and UPS is happy to increase delivery density.

And is it all or nothing for ground? or can it be on a package by package basis?
