12 26/07 UPS withdrew from Central States Pension Fund. Negotiated between IBT and UPS the fund was not party to this. As result UPS was required to pay its share to Pension fund unfunded liability of 6.1 billon. Because the pension fund will no longer receive contributions from UPS this can be a positive or negative. the fund's future financial success is very highly dependent on investment returns on investment returns in upcoming years.
I just read this Saturday and going to be a little nervous from now on out.
