Using vacation time for disability

I sprained my ankle and can't work for 10 days. My supervisor said I cannot use a planned vacation week to cover my pay while I am out. Is this legal? I thought you had to use all available time first?

Sorry, FMLA is your only solution. Short Term disability has at least a 7 day wait period prior to paying you anything. Once approved it takes at least 3 weeks to receive the funds + not all payroll taxes are taken out. Hope you feel better soon.
