Why don't you call up a Canadian doctor (easy enough to find online) and book an appointment, just for the hell of it?

I dont give a crap about Canada...it sucks. You bash my country and im going to bash yours. You must really have low self esteem for a Canadian or your just jealous that your not an American. I think i will go to a website that has mostly Canadians as members and i will bash Canada and tell them how great Amercia is. I wonder how well that would go over?

By the way...i called BS on your Japanese healthcare claim...are you going to continue to run like your sister?

Here is a little tidbit for ya:

As reported by the Health Council of Canada, a 2010 Commonwealth survey found that 42% of Canadians waited 2 hours or more in the emergency room, vs. 29% in the U.S.; 43% waited 4 weeks or more to see a specialist, vs. 10% in the U.S. SUCK IT!!!!

I really can't comment about Ontarios healthcare, since every province runs it's own with federal funding.
DS lives in Ontario, he has an Ontario Healthcare card, and I have an Alberta Healthcare Card.
Alberta, as they say, has the best healthcare in the country. But, I can't even verify that myself, since I have never used out of province healthcare, yet.

It's not that simple as you may think, that Canada has only 1 universal healthcare program in place, but 10 !

Yeah, that's so sad about America.
You have the lowest minimum wages in the western industrialized countries (europe, Austr, NZ, Canada). Even in "3rd world country as Spain" as someone posted towards me the other day - they earn more money on minimum wages, have more holidays, have paid national healthcare, more stat hoilidays, and more paid sick days.

Just the other day when I read the title that a sorter was earning $15hr after 3 years was a lie. Not so in Canada. Starting wage is over $13/hr as a sorter/preloader here. $19 or close to $20 after 3 years.

Minimum wage varies by province, as high as over $12/hr to as low as $10.50 per hr.
Now , Sat will step in and say we pay 40% taxes, which is BS. If you earn under $14.500 per year, it's zero taxes.
under $28.500 it's 12.5% taxes. Up to $39K it's 14.5%, up to $65K it's 17.5%, and up to 120K 22.5%. The highest is 24.5%. somewhere around that anyways.

But think of it this way - if you work at Burger King here - you'll earn $11.30/hr part-time. You have national healthcare.
Compared to the US... maybe $7.50-$8.50/hr , saving maybe 25 cents an hr on taxes, but not having healthcare insurance, less vacation time, and less paid Stat holidays.

In Europe, it's even better, because 4 weeks or more is mandatory vactation time, depending in which country your in, it can be 6 weeks like Germany.
And even more Stat holidays (2.5 days for xmas, 2 days for easter- easter Monday and Good Friday), plus extra ones, we don't have.

But, I must admit, you have the highest paid CEO's in the world, and the largest company profits on earth.
So, that's your huge "advantage" !

I thought they were slightly higher, but the Yukon, NWT and Nunavit also get a government northern allowance on top of miminum wages, I believe it's 20 or 25%.
Alberta is suppose to be $10.35 this year, atleast it was proposed last year. Not sure when that will kick in though.

Anyways, everyone pays more than minimal wages, besides being a worker that earns tips, such as a waitress.
Mac D's , BK, starting wages are $11.30 to $11.50 for example.
In booming FT MacMurray, Alberta, where the oil sands are, it's around the $15 mark mimimum.

That's the problem with just posting and not looking it up. No one is going to accept what you say just because you are saying it. Facts need to be verified.

DS will confirm that as a loader at UPS it's over $12/hr to start with, and a dollar more after 30 days.

It don't matter. My point is the American poor are getting poorer, while the rich are getting richer.
Even our Teamsters up north are different.
We pay the loaders more, but the long term drivers less. So, everyone can make an honest fair living.
Your poor pre-loaders earn $8.50 to start, here they get 50% more right off the bat !

(The Hill) — House Republicans don’t want Uncle Sam paying for any more lap dances.
A bill that GOP leaders are bringing to the House floor Wednesday would require states to prevent welfare recipients from accessing or spending their benefits at strip clubs, casinos and liquor stores.

Republicans included the proposal in the payroll tax bill the House passed in December, and they are bringing it back up for a vote separately as part of a package of bills they want included in a final agreement extending the payroll tax cut and other measures through 2012.

Rep. Charles Boustany Jr. (R-La.), the chief sponsor of the strip-club loophole bill, said in an interview that the legislation was a response to press reports that recipients of benefits under the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program were using state-issued debit cards containing the funds for gambling, alcohol and adult entertainment.

“It’s pretty rampant around the country,” Boustany said of the abuses. “This has really eroded the credibility of the TANF program in the eyes of the American taxpayer — a program that has been successful, by and large.

Maybe America should have some sweatshops for those people on disability or unemployment, manufacturing cheap clothing and electronics. Pay them $1 hr and give China some competition ?

Of course those shops would need to be privatly owned, since that's the good American way to do things, and the owners of those factories would become billionaires, while the government would still need to hand over foodstamps and other subsidies to those workers.

Monday, February 27, 2012 @ 11:10 am | Jesse Jackson: Obama Should Consider It “An Honor To Be a Food Stamp President”…
Which begs the obvious question, why is it “racist” when Gingrich calls Obama the “food stamp president?”
Say, it’s an honor to be a food stamp president. Food stamps feed the hungry. Food stamps save the children. Food stamps help the farmer. Food stamps help the truck driver. Food stamps help the warehouse. Food stamps help the store. Food stamps hire people and feed people. Food stamps save people from starvation and malnutrition. Whenever you attack feeding the hungry, you undermine the moral authority of our faith. Give President Barack Obama a big hand. Show your love. Show your appreciation.
