Welfare

Anyways, it all could have been prevented with "social help".

Something, most on here don't understand and don't want to.

Do you really think someone should get a check by simply walking in the door and asking for it?
As was said, there is more to this story that isn't being told. There are requirements for eligibility and a need for personal information.
The article said the first time she applied for assistance she didn't provide all the info requested, then came back months later with a gun.
Before you come on here and slamming people for not understanding, the least you could do is actually read your source information.

The source did mention she was trying for months !

If you want to interpute that into a 1 time try and a 1 time denial, that's up to you.
I know you'll need more proof.
I can't provide other than the article itself.
Like the Herman Cain case - Women can't be trusted, they all lie !

You provided all the proof needed.
At least read the fricken article, It has nothing to do with interpretation.

Texas Health and Human Services spokeswoman Stephanie Goodman said the woman first applied for assistance in July.

Goodman said the mother was denied because she didn't submit enough information.

Goodman said the mother called the office in mid-November to check on her case. That was apparently the last time she tried contacting the state before the shooting, Goodman said.

Tell me how the case workers were wrong? Does your government track people down to get the the info they need to give the assistance? Well, do they?

Nice twist on the story from government officials.
Of course they won't tell what happened between July and November.
It's only December now.

But keep on dreaming if you think she only tried to get food stamps (assistance) once and way back in July.

interpute?????

Let's break this word out in order to define and determine what Klein is saying.

Inter: verb, meaning to bury, as in the earth

Pute: slang for prostitute, whore, slut. bitch

Rephrasing the quote for mass understanding and here is the intended meaning:

"If you want to "bury that Ho Bitch, a one time try and a one time denial, that's up to you." I'll leave figuring out the context up to you.

In our next lesson on Kleinese, we'll dissect the word capitalisum to figure out what the hell that is!

I rarely get picky over spelling but I do admit that Klein's posts can give an entertaining twist to it all.

:wink2:

Make up your mind Klein. Was the article correct or was it not correct? This is just one more example why people on here don't take you serious.
First you're all fired up because according to YOUR source the state denied her assistance and when the very same source shows it was the woman that failed to provide the needed info, the state is lying. HAHAHAHA.....think before you post Klein. Better yet, just don't post.

Have you ever dealt with the IRS and been under an audit ?
Maybe she went thru the same hell with them at social services ?

Yes, I've dealt with the IRS, I pay my taxes yearly, No I have never been audited by the IRS.

Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. The only thing you or I know about this story is what was printed in your article. You condemn me for offering an alternative scenario on Herman Cain, yet feel very comfortable doing the same thing here. You didn't answer my questions. Does your government require certain information before giving assistance?

To answer your question :

Very little info.
I have done it in the past for roomates and tennants, just signing a piece of paper that they own rent.
And they get a cheque almost immediatly.

Then instead of going to Texas from Ohio she should have went to Canada, it would be closer anyway.

Yup, if you would have read the comments on the CBC page, that's what they say.
Would have never happened here !

And that's why we are proud Canadians !

Friday, December 9, 2011 @ 3:38 pm | Heartless Republicans Add Provision Into Payroll Tax Extension Requiring States Crack Down on Welfare Funds Being Used In Strip Clubs, Liquor Stores, Casinos…

Party poopers.
(OTM) — A provision buried in the 369-page payroll tax extension package offered by House Republicans Friday would require states to crack down on the use of welfare funds in liquor stores, casinos and strip clubs.

The legislative package includes several high-profile extensions of expiring measures, such as the payroll tax break and unemployment benefits. Also, it would extend by one year the $16.5 billion Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program (TANF) — but with a caveat. States could not receive the entirety of their grants under the program unless they prevent government assistance dollars from being used for more risque activities.

The measure would require states within two years to ensure that ATMs at such establishments do not distribute cash when Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards are inserted. If states fail to meet that timeline, the amount in TANF block grants they could receive would be cut by 5 percent

"As Ronald Reagan noted in 1968, “We should measure welfare’s success by how many people leave welfare, not by how many are added.” He also stated in 1970 that “welfare’s purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.” Unfortunately, the federal welfare system fails to accomplish this purpose. Welfare reforms that promote work are key to achieving the goal of helping those in need become once again self-reliant and independent."

Ontario governments spent more than $27.7 billion on corporate welfare

A 2007 study pegged the national corporate welfare bill at $15.6 billion a year, which led one journalist to suggest expenditures on corporate welfare are almost twice that of expenditures on social welfare.
And 'here's the kicker:' the corporate subsidies don't create jobs.

The reason for the welfare state is to make up for what capitalism doesnt do. Capitalism creates a few winnners and a lot of losers. In s socialist state there is no need for this. In a capitalist state, welfare programs are needed. Reagan was just pandering to the knuckle draggers of the populace for votes. He too was clueless as to how the economy worked or didnt work.
