What is the worst stop on your route?

A beauty/phone/makeup/hair store. Gets cods daily and thinks I should wait while he goes and buys money orders. He will inevitably get one thats ck ok, and more money order only. So he is foreign, he talks on the phone in a language I do not know to figure out how to write the check, while he sends and associate next door to get the money orders.Actually I think his tactic is about to go through the floor. Im just going to leave, and when he yells at me, I dont understand. Its amazing how when I do that he understands perfectly. he holds me up every day, and since he does not speak my language, I dont know how to get through to him that this crap is stopping.

Walk in, point to the amount of COD on label and hold out your hand. If a MO doesn't appear in you hand, smile and wave goodbye.

I hate the walmarts that don't take all departments on the dock. I don't know what the protocol is but there are some that take vision grocery and general merchandise all together and others where you have to make 5 stops out of one.

I also dislike the hospital stops. So many offices all with irregular hours and lunches. Can really slow down your day in a jiffy. between the several floors of suites office supplies and decrepit elderly weak and sick pedestrians I get thoroughly annoyed.

When I was a package driver, I had a woman who ran a 1-person reupholster business. Everything she got was COD-CASH ONLY-NO CHECKS. Normally, I don't have any sympathy for those folks, and just make my attempts and get on down the road. The problem with this stop was she got giant rolls of batting and cotton and I didn't want to move it around all day and do it all over again the next day. I let her talk me into stopping by on my way back in the afternoon to give her time to go get the cash. I did it the first time, but then it turned into every day. The road she lived on was one of the busiest streets in Houston. The afternoon stop was terrible, because I had to cross the road against traffic, and then leave against traffic. I made a mistake giving in to the customer on that one. Was sure glad to see her move from my area! Hell, I would have helped her move!

I'm lucky to not have any real horrible stops on my route and my pickups are light.

When I was a cover driver there was one pickup stop on a route I covered that got 300+ boxes of paper. I cringed everytime I got put on that route.

I had a stop on a navy base, they ordered 98 boxes of paper. I had to park about 15 yards from the door, load 5 cases on the hand cart, carry them up a flight of stairs, load the cart back up, then put them in a closet that was way too small. The next day I had 98 call tags for the paper, plus 100 new boxes. I was usually off the base by noon, that day it was after 3.

Minuscule to the ones I've read so far, but Cosmetology school & motorcycle shop on 2 of our centers routes. Cart 20 to 50 into the middle of the building, 3-5 cart trips, no dock, no help. These type of customers can stick it up their :censored2: & break it off!

Why do people hate delivering walmarts? Mines easy. It's basically my first stop. I go to the dock and get rid of it. Then deliver the vision center (they usually have a NDA).
What kinda hospital do you have? The hospital I have has a central receiving area, I just dump everything on the dock. All the other hospitals in our center are the same as well.

In all honesty..... A Abortion clinic.....feel alot of sorrow just knowing thats a stop I have to deliver.

I hear ya on that one! I had one on my old route. Being a devout Catholic, I really struggled with my conscience even bringing boxes to them. Even spoke to my priest about it. He basically said that it was similar to delivering to a convenience store that sells pornography or condoms. I just said Hail Mary's in my head from the time I left my truck til the time I returned. One of the most miserable places I have ever entered.

Not all walmarts suck. One I used to deliver to took everything except vision and the bank inside, and if I was occasionally in a hurry they would sign for it all.

Screen printing shop out of a guys garage. His driveway was about 40 yards long of busted up 1920s cement with three speed bumps straight up hill. Got about 10 boxes of tshirts twice a week.
