You never read the book, and you're crying ':censored2: SOCIALIST....' etc.

Get back to me when you've read the book.
I never once called him a socialist. I’m calling him an extremely biased “historian” his motivation are still unknown to me but I’m sure I’ll find out once we make it to the United States part of his book and what he wants to highlight there. I don’t think mark l3vin should be writing the curriculum for middle schoolers and either should Howard Zinn.

He's having fun, the only thing national politics is good for. Relax friend.
I could not possibly be more relaxed.

Being a bubble off is a nice way to say he's a different kind of dude, which itself is a nice way to say he's possibly a touch mentally deranged. But just a touch.

And that's fine. We're all a bit off.

In fact, I'm always suspicious of people who appear too normal - they're the ones I worry about.

But I don't find the state of our country and it's current political divisions fun. That's the last word I'd use to describe it. :censored2: is beginning to move dangerously close to a place we may not find our way back from - both sides HATE each other and it's not looking like there's any end in sight.

We're a country on the brink and nobody can ever really know where the tipping point lies or what might put it over the top. I just know for certain we're inching closer to that imaginary line with each day that passes and we've got a President who relishes playing the role of the great divider.

Ok.

Read the book and get back to me.

You seem predisposed to discount the guy, and that's fine.

What are you afraid of?

Trump does not relish the role of a divider. I think it actually hurts him to be against democrats now and the way they treat him. He is a New York Democrat.

Well.
I guess you and the ultra conservatives have that in common.

The sky is falling!
The most divisive times in history!
Helter skelter!

Lol.

History is inherently biased since it's usually written by the victors, brah.

The reason that A People's History of The United States is considered one of the best American history books ever written is because he lays it out without all the America hip hip hooray bull:censored2: perspective and shines light on our ugly underbelly, while still recognizing the triumphs of our country and the lessons we have learned from both along with the mistakes we failed to learn from.

That’s why I said it’s not absolute truth. I don’t consider it a history book at all so far and I’m 8 pages in. It reads just like one of my mark l3vin books, which is more like history porn for getting your political rocks off.

You are having biased accounts being retold by biased authors, history is far from truth. Though if you cross check sources and get both sides of the bias you can get a clearer picture. So far Howard Zinn has only taken one side and even omitted information.

You know damn well that's nonsense. It's never been anywhere close to this in my lifetime or yours unless you were around in the mid 1800's.

This is not even an anti-Trump thing either, bub. I'm not even blaming it on Donny :censored2:Face because I don't believe that it began with him - he just used the sparks to get elected and then fanned them til the flames rose. This has been building since at least the 2000 election, but probably got it's real start during the Clinton/Lewinsky/Whitewater investigation...It got briefly better after 9/11 galvinized the nation for about a year, then unfortunately the Bush administration's lies and bull:censored2: Iraq war not only divided us again, but rachets it up to the next level in the blink of an eye...then we elected a black president which despite looking like a giant step in the right direction to many of us, opened the door for some to stoke the latent racism and drive yet another wedge between us...the economic crisis hits and further divides us and sows the seeds of distrust in our financial and government institutions along with the elite. Bailouts ensue and the term too big to fail enters the lexicon, yet millions of everyday Americans go belly up, losing everything they worked their lives for, and wiping out the fake paper wealth they thought they had when said bubble burst.

These events lead us to the 2016 :censored2: you vote from the working poor/lower middle class white men who feel like they've become marginalized and society has left them behind while this country has become a place they don't recognize anymore, and whether they are right or wrong about that and whether that should be looked at as progress or not, it still stands that this is just another one of the reasons things are what they are today. I don't need to point out the events and rhetoric that have been undermining this nation's ability to come back together and find a common ground since Trump took office - I think we're all aware of where this country stands today, regardless of which side of the divide you're on.

Things are not good in the hood and if/when this economy falters, we're gonna find ourselves in a very precarious position, one that could border right on the edge of violent conflict among our own citizens.

This is/has been being stoked by our enemies, both foreign and domestic for years now, and they're doing a fantastic job of it. To think otherwise is naive, and unfortunately the answer for our ills isn't just to vote Trump out of office, although having a rational calming presence in the white house would be a step in the right direction. It basically only shifts the power dynamic, while doing nothing to bring us closer to the compromises we're all going to need to make if we ever want to get America back on the path to success and remain competitive with an emerging Chinese superpower globally in the future - or to Make America Great Again to quote the orange blunder.

Bro, you're 8 :censored2:ing pages in. It's a long book...why would you think you've got any grasp on it after a thousand or so words?

Why don't you come back and offer your opinion on it after you're done...you haven't even gotten to the 1650's yet and it's a book about the history of America. The founding fathers haven't even been born yet and you're ready to cash it in.

In other words, pop your ADHD meds and read on before you give us your summary.

Americans don’t need foreign influence to be at each other’s throats.
Troof.

But it certainly isn't helping.

And it is the new weapon in the asymmetrical war that Russia is waging on our country. Sow discord in our population and promote American nationalism in an effort to control our global influence and ambitions. Keep us too busy at home to worry about the rest of the world.

What do you think the two party system thrives on?

He was only a Democrat of convenience - he was what he needed to be in order to push his business agenda and influence/curry favor with New York political power brokers when he needed to be it.

He is a political chameleon with no real ideology or belief system to speak of, outside of the one that helps him make a buck.

So if he has any true party affiliation, it's the green party...the dolla dolla bills.

Orange brah is all about the C.R.E.A.M

He sounds like a 90’s Democrat to me. I don’t think he is really pro-life or pro-gun.

I'm just gonna toss this out there in the off chance someone on this board can help me with a book I've been wanting to read for a few years, but that isn't available anywhere in America or officially in the English language for that matter...

Does anyone have an English translation of the Russian book "Foundations of Geopolitics" by Aleksandr Dugin or know where one can be found for download or purchase? Preferably a hard copy but that's not likely.

It's a hail mary, but you never know if you don't ask.

It's a book written in 1997 that has become/is basically the Russian playbook for the ways they can/should plan to undermine the United States and the West. It wasn't written by a Russian official or government sponsored, but much of the ideology and predictions put forth by Dugin have been adopted by Putin and his intelligence/military apparatus - it is apparently a frighteningly accurate book that has become quite the sensation in American intelligence circles.
