Every time we get a new dispatcher, we get into a fight about it. Our rule is if it progresses the package forward, it is Union work. Pulling packages off one car to move to the other is progressing it forward. We have won every time.
That's the safety committees job!!
I was making a joke. I always see the safety guys doing add/cuts instead of actual safety work.

I think the preloaders should be doing it. But if the preload is short, I don't have an issue with it. The only alternative is to use supervisors. Would you rather have a union employee doing it or management?
All's I'm saying they are using safety hours for things other than safety. I'm at work early, I'll do it.

Then make that known. We have guys that come in early that won't go near a package even if you ask. They want to be gotcha men, and catch a sup doing it.
