Who Fuels Up?

I just bought lottery tickets this morning while fueling my truck, while in my uniform. Lol.

Yep. Did it this morning too. :)

Show me the policy where it says we can't do that.
I don't chase down policies. I just use common sense and follow the rules as told to me by managers. Since I live in a 1 stop light town and you live in such a large city, I guess rules apply differently there.

Reading comprehension was a big weakness for you in school, wasn't it? I never said I lived in a large city. I live in the suburbs of a large city. And yes, rules apply different everywhere. I've been at 8 different locations. I've seen it first hand.

So 7 different stations have ran you off. Guess you wear out your welcome over and over. Having trouble at work might be the reason you are alone and single. Bummer

That is just one of the problems with you on this site, you try to apply the rules that you live under and follow, to the rest of the board/company. Just because a "manager" of a small station says to do or not do something, odds are if you were at a larger station with seasoned educated employees you would understand that those "rules" that you love to quote, are in fact made up policy done at the whim of a manager that knows his/her employees either don't have the balls or the brains to challenge them.

LOL. Small station. We have 85 am couriers, 20 or so on pm. Seasoned employees? I have over 40 years and I am 4th I believe in seniority, depends if you count a handler. I would imagine we have 15 or so 30 yr couriers.

You actually think employees collecting rewards points while using a company credit card is something the company condones? You actually believe playing at the poker tables in your uniform is something the company condones? You think going to Hooters after work and drinking beer in your uniform is something the company condones?

Several other posters said they were told to NOT to get rewards points using the company credit card. I guess their managers gave them faulty info as well.

Here's where I will end my 'rewards' discussion: As long as the courier is not going out of the way to waste gas and time to chase said rewards or going to a place that is against local station policy, there is no harm in it. It's like getting a free coffee or doughnut. Most diesel rewards systems aren't even tied into the point of sales systems, so there's little to no chance of the wholesale discount being revoked.

The second part.... if the employee wishes to play some poker on their break, go ahead. They should be conscientious about their appearance and optics, but there are plenty of people who, after work and in uniform, head to the casino to toss in a couple bucks. Nobody really bats an eye. The same applies to Hooters after work. Now, if you're downtown at midnight and still wearing your uniform while getting :censored2:faced... that's a different story, NOBODY will argue with those optics being bad and frowned upon.

Totally off topic but, have any of you guys looked at the FedEx or UPS Facebook pages today. OMG the whining and crying from customers because a bunch stations in Florida have closed for the hurricane and they can't get the supplies they ordered off amazon yesterday. Lol.

I figured out, long ago that most people are self centred morons. To hell with a stranger's safety, I want the widget I ordered off Amazon!

And you, sir (title used loosely), are a judgmental curmudgeon. Hope the rest of the world treats you in kind.

LOL I have been called redneck, a hick, accused of living in the woods, of living in a 1 stop-light town, living with my head in the sand. Called morn, a liar, a snitch and plenty of other names. I can't help but notice you never call the posters out that make those remarks. What does that make you, a hypocrite?
