Who Fuels Up?

So 7 different stations have ran you off. Guess you wear out your welcome over and over. Having trouble at work might be the reason you are alone and single. Bummer
EXHIBIT B
LOL I have been called redneck, a hick, accused of living in the woods, of living in a 1 stop-light town, living with my head in the sand. Called morn, a liar, a snitch and plenty of other names. I can't help but notice you never call the posters out that make those remarks. What does that make you, a hypocrite?
Placing Exhibit A into evidence, Your Honor. The Defendant made spurious and demeaning allegations with the intention to defame.
Exhibit B, Your Honor, will show that the Defendant has exhibited a record of continual abuse, as evidenced by the overwhelming consensus of his peers. Ironically, he expects those who call him out on such abuses to somehow jump to his defense as well.
I rest my case.

And Fred is a dumb ole truck driver, just like the rest of us, that wishes he had done something better with his life. He sounds like Jesse Jackson, using big words that he has no idea what they mean and had to look them up on the web. Kinda sad.

Must be hard for the 85 trucks in the AM to fuel up at 1 station with 1 card. Or the old man is lying again.
I used to have a route and drove 300-350/day. They gave me a 'gas burner' with almost no gas one day. I fueled up by the station and again on my route. I'm not one to bring it back empty, so I tried to fill up again only to find out the card can only be used twice before having to call the number on the card for approval.

Circle K has in the past given gifts with a fill up, no "rewards" program needed... Free bottles of water in summer, Even Free AA batteries around Xmas time... just show your receipt. Our CSA/person who audits the receipts always calls the "survey" number at the bottom and registers to "win" whatever they are giving away.

I do know you aren't supposed to play in a casino while in uniform. On or off the clock.

There is no policy in either The People Manual or People Best Practices that prohibits an employee from patronizing a casino while on break. There is a generic expectation of professionalism when in uniform, on or off the clock. One of the old timers told me that it was against policy years ago to buy alcohol on your way home if you were still in uniform.

As far as playing in a casino while on break, it happens all the time off-strip in Vegas.

Says the person who is going against policy by claiming rewards while fueling their van with a company credit card.

There is no company policy to that effect. Some rewards programs are compatible with some cards while others aren't. I have worked in an area where Speedway stations were all over the place and couriers went bonkers using that rewards program. The only concern was that some couriers were going out of their way to use those stations, but other than that no one cared.

Went into a Hastings bookstore about 10 years ago on lunch to look at magazines. Another courier was there, looking at porn. In his uniform! Actually grinned at me and showed me what he was looking at. And I don't mean the cover! I was like Dude!

Says you. Several on here have said they were told NOT to use rewards. I don't believe you have final say on policy. You might think you do, but I don't think that is correct.

Can you give me your email so I can ask you every time I have a question. My SM says 1 thing and you say another. Obviously he doesn't know what he is talking about and I feel certain you can straighten him out.

Or you could recognize that policy is not set in stone and is left to the interpretation of local management.

No doubt. But many policies are there and are just ignored by many locations. Just because they are ignored doesn't mean they are not policy.

Many stations do things differently and local management makes decisions to either follow policy or look the other way.

I hear stories about radios being prohibited in trucks while our station mechanic installed power plugs in most vans for us to plug our radios into.

Our Director made several stations remove their basketball goals due to injuries. We have a goal, ping pong table and a pinball machine and he never says anything when he visits.

One thing that our station does emphasize to us is that we can not drink at a bar off the clock in uniform and we can not visit the local casinos while at lunch or off the clock in uniform.

As long as they keep our pinball and ping pong table and popcorn machine going for us, I will change clothes when I visit a casino or bar after work. I don't really care to socialize after work in my uniform anyway.

I don't understand people that socialize in uniform. If I'm going out anywhere after work I at least have a t-shirt in the car.

I don't have final say on official company policy. Official company policy has final say on official company policy. Guess what isn't prohibited by official company policy? Using rewards cards when fueling. How do I know? Because I have The People Manual raht 'chere on this very computer and there is nothing, not even by the most generous stretch of humankind's most vivid imaginations, that comes within eleventy gazillion miles of even remotely suggesting that what we've been talking about is afoul of company policy.

TL;DR: It's not addressed in any way, shape, or form in the policy manual.

Your turn.

Is there some reason why you can't ask him to show you these policies that you blindly parrot? You have the same access to the same policy manuals that he has and that I have. Why don't you go look these policies up and tell us where they are?

Why dont you send me your email so my SM can confer with you on important matters. You sit on your tail all day and read policy and act like a big shot quoting it. Why not share your knowledge with my managers? I just do what my managers ask me to do. Like I said, anyone that socializes at a bar or casino in uniform must get a thrill wearing his uniform all the time. Do they wear it to church on Sunday as well?

My SM asks us to not drink or gamble in uniform. I take him at his word. He keeps us supplied with pingong balls, popcorn packs and keeps our pinball machine working, at least I can change clothes when I go to Hooters on Wednesday for wing night.

Because I don't GAF what your SM does. That's why. Why don't you ask the SM why he makes claims about company policy that he knows aren't true?

It takes about 2 minutes to search policy for whatever I'm looking for. They have access (and so do you) to the same info that I have. If they can't be honest with you about it and you're too lazy find it out on your own... not my problem.

My SM asks us to not drink or gamble in uniform. I take him at his word.

You sit on your tail and tell us what you think policy is only to find out that "policy" is actually "a request from my SM."
