It wont be republicans or democrats that destroy unions. It is the ordinary people who live in the state that make the final decision.
Are there any states left that dont have initiative and referendum laws? The final say on these right-to-work laws will be the citizens of that state and if they accept right-to-work laws or strike them down with their own votes
Wish I could agree, but Wisconsin is a prime example of a newly elected Republican Governor singlehandedly destroying public sector Unions. Scott Walker took office, ordered the Republican controlled State Legislature not to approve the collective bargaining agreement previously approved by his predecessor, and essentially destroyed those unions. When he eliminated the dues check-off provision from their contracts, he turned hundreds of Union Reps, whose duties consisted of grievance processing, arbitrations, workplace meetings and general representation duties, into dues collectors. As a result, the public sector Unions in Wisconsin are now a mere shadow of what they once were.
Yes...the Democrats are the better of the two parties...but not by much. It almost seems that the Republicans have decided to kill us, while the Democrats have decided to let us live as long as we continue to support them.
