Chief Executive David Abney told Reuters UPS is adding capacity to its network and will work more closely with retailers ahead of this year’s crucial holiday peak season.

Atlanta-based United Parcel Service is planning a $105 million expansion at its Lexington hub.
On Thursday, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved offering up to UPS up to $500,000 in tax incentives for the expansion.
By expanding its building and installing additional sorting automation, the UPS facility on Mercer Road would be able to sort up to 43,000 pieces per hour.
