I don't care if I have hrs. my work schedule is Mon.-Fri.
Casual or Permanent? If casual you are SOL. If permanent you can't be forced
What local can one be forced? Not in mine you can't
They ask for volunteers first but will force from the bottom as needed.
Oh hell no
As much as it pains me, I agree with Dave.
Lack of seniority sucks.
We get so many volunteers they never have to force anyone in, it's an easy money day and I'm sure it's the same everywhere.
I might volunteer. 14-20 rural stops on a nice day. Not a horrible gig.
I'm in the 177. Black Friday is still optional. Double time for all hours worked. Holiday pay for day off. They were BEGGING drivers to work. They were severely understaffed for the day. Not a single driver was forced in, other than casuals.
I might actually do it if I have hours left. If I'm near 55 , my center manager won't bother "asking".
Black Friday is a paid holiday. What are they going to do, not pay you your holiday pay?
If you call in? Yes.
I don't have to call in. It's a paid holiday.
No, it's not.
You're schedule is what is posted on the start times, unless the job was bid mon through Friday.
Labor Day is the ONLY day on the calender we cannot work.
I was asked. If I don't work tomorrow, and nothing else comes up for Saturday, I will do it.
Mothers Day is the reason our center started posting individual start times.
I won't be forced to work that Saturday. I'll be fishing, ing my woman, and smoking some buds. It's nice not working for UPS anymore! It's even better having a life and hitting happy hours and other cool functions with regular people
Not at UPS anymore, yet strangely obsessed with it.
Cool, good luck where ever you end up, maybe they'll have a forum you can post in.
That was quick!
