I Voted No

UnionStrong

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
Yup, this agreement has garnered more headlines than any other worker pay out there. Unfortunately, just about everyone knows what we are getting for raises and how much we will make. The rhetoric in response from the public has been surprise and shock at how much we make. Just imagine if this thing gets voted down how crazy and out of touch we're going to look when much of the country is struggling to get by. People are happy for us now but they sure as hell won't be if we vote no.
There would be no spinning it either. The headlines would be bad.

-Frozen pensions in Philadelphia and the West. (Not true)
-The raise outpaces inflation, and what does that matter anyway if you need more money work and extra job.
-The statement about MRAs, if you already had one you keep it and get raises on top of it.
-7500 jobs created is more than enough most PTmers don’t have the balls to go full time.
- Complaining about AC like we could get it all at once, that language is for the future, not current drivers.

Cmon man, go to your hall and talk to someone, this article is crap.
I was at the hall twice last week, and I can read some words.
I was only showing you one of many organizations out here pushing for ridiculous demands, because they want a major work stoppage more than anything.
Did you have an expectation of truth from communist propaganda? Lol..

I think he thought you agreed with that article but obviously you do not.
World socialist website does not endorse the contract makes me want to vote yes twice.

I'm just saying, all the chest beating about
I think it's propaganda. I think it's our own union trying to scare us into voting "yes."
So did I until I realize they spent millions of dollars on the signs. My local spent $10,000 on yellow freight strike signs. The international sent us four times that amount of ups on strike signs just to my local.

I'm just saying, all the chest beating over $30B in new money this time around, but with the previous $13B contract they managed to maintain pension contribution increases. You increased the deal by 130% and somehow couldn't do that. Go :censored2: yourself, Sean.

I think outside agitators are trying to influence this vote. This could go in a very dangerous direction with unintended consequences.
I think you're 100% right.
We won't get all the volume back, and people will be unemployed. The ironic thing is that a lot of the biggest screamers will be some of the first unintended consequences.

People who say we will strike if it’s voted down have their heads in the sand. Incase you’re not keeping up with current affairs between yellow and what’s happening in Hollywood, there’s roughly 50K teamsters in the unions soup line already. Green lighting 330K more to hit the streets would bankrupt the teamsters. You seem to be caught up with what the company can afford, in reality you need to start thinking about what the Union can afford.

People who say? You mean the international leadership? In case you were not here in 1997 the teamsters were broke, I mean, flat broke, I mean they couldn’t even keep all the lights on in the building and we went on strike. They had to borrow money from the AFL-CIO just to give us our $55.
