Just curious. On a typical night the volume would be between 55,000-80,000. This week we've been over 85,000 every day. It's been the heaviest week since peak season. Any thoughts as to why?
The earliest filers started receiving their checks or in our case, direct deposits. I would bet that refunds started coming back a week to 10 days ago.
It seems to me that we get a little bump this time every year, I think Barnyard is right. We have several other what I call "mini peaks" throughout the year. The next one will be Easter, Summer, Back To School, Halloween, Hunting Season, Christmas, and then Valentine's Day. Maybe a few more thrown in. I have been observing that my delivery area has been getting a little more spred out as those bags going to the Post Office get bigger.
