After my 2nd day of preloading I..really need tips.

I really want to get better. I wasn't thinkin it would be that vigorous but damn do I feel it. I feel confused though because different sups are telling me different things. One tells me to do it a certain way and another says "driver's are pompous :censored:s, they get paid 50 :censored:ing bucks an...

Is there a special way your center numbers/names their trucks?

For instance mine has trucks with real names. One is Pat. Another is named after a football team. Is that depending on the center or something else? Just out of curiosity. :-)

I think I might get fired soon...

Hello, fellow UPSers. I'm a new hire (been doing preload for about 3 weeks now, but it's my 4th week at UPS). I think I'm gonna get fired. Let me explain: I'm not very quick— I load pretty good sometimes, but often the drop will get packed and they'll need to have a more experienced loader help...

    Forced to work preload

Ok, a few of our drivers choose to work preload when we aren't able to drive very much because of low volume, no drivers off, etc. Well we have been short on preloaders lately and they have been "forcing" (most days it's not really forced) us to work, some days even having someone come in on...

New Hire, Keep asking me to go to a supervisor role!

As the name suggest I recently (still haven't made seniority) and the hub I am at is short staffed across the board (drivers preload and supervisors) so basically I was "thrown to the wolves" when I started preloading the second day and did 3 trucks with very little help, which is fine I prefer...

As a loader, having a good relationship with your driver pays off.

So I'm cool with my drivers and try to do my best for their loads and they cover the occasional misload. It really paid off recently though. One of the guys on our belt started driving so they hired a new guy. Since I was lowest seniority, I got pushed to his old pull which was the hellish...

Advice on if I should leave UPS or not

Hey all Im going into my 3rd week on the job preloading at UPS and I gotta say I'm hating it. I'm not one to quit things, I never have before but this is really getting to me. I love a faced paced work environment cause I don't enjoy being paid to sit on my ass like some retail jobs I had but...

New preloader - tips(?) + blowing off steam

I've had 6 days in preload. Day 1, I did my (3 car) set with a sup. Day 2&3, did the same set by myself and was keeping up, starting to get used to it. Day 4, someone called in - sups put me on a new (4 car) set at the end of the belt with a sup helping half the day, went OK. Day 5, someone else...

    Hiring felons.

I just got back from my first interview for PT package handler (preload). It was scheduled for 5:15 AM. There were 3 people ahead of me, and each took about 30-45 minutes to interview. I didn't get in until 5:50. 10 minutes later, my interview was over. The subject of my felony conviction...

    Things that bug your preloader

I know the drivers have tons of things that bug them and we preloaders may cause a few of those issues; however we also have things that bother us. . . 1. Add/cuts that are given to us when we are wrapping up our trucks. 2. A huge add with smeared writing so we have no clue where...
