Remember the time when we worked for UPS and all the other shipping companies offered 7? That was so cool that we prevented that. Man I wished I still had that job.I remember reading about the old days when Unions fought to get a 40 hour week with weekends off.
I guess Hoffa missed that day in school.
The way we are going we will be working 6 days a week 10 hours a day.
You got a few no call no shows, use them. Now you are down to 4 working days.
I always thought that being allowed to schedule sick days was a crock of .
No not Hoffa. He got that right. The new market place is changing at a very fast pace. With Millennials driving it with their buying habits. Part of the job as Union Leaders is to protect jobs. If we don't change those packages are going somewhere else. Most likely in a non discript white van with no bumpers and a dude in a HiVee vest driving it.I remember reading about the old days when Unions fought to get a 40 hour week with weekends off.

Wrong again. 72 hr letter sent out here and your name is taken off the seniority list after start time on day 3 unless you can prove you were unable to call in.This is the only job that I have ever had where we are allowed to NC/NS up to 3 times per year without retribution.
Progressive discipline. First occurrence a warning letter. Second occurrence a suspension, most likely a working suspension, third occurrence another suspension and now it starts to get real with a threat of termination.Wrong again. 72 hr letter sent out here and your name is taken off the seniority list after start time on day 3 unless you can prove you were unable to call in.
Three NC NS days in a row =s termination here.Progressive discipline. First occurrence a warning letter. Second occurrence a suspension, most likely a working suspension, third occurrence another suspension and now it starts to get real with a threat of termination.
"Don't go away mad,(just go away)"I honestly thought that this thread was about me. As of today I only have 6 working days left.
@UpstateNYUPSer, are you the only person that ever retired from ups?
sure seems so
I have to agree. He is really milking this for all it's worth. 99% of the people on here just let it be known the day of or after. He has been making sure every thread knows the exact date and number of days till retirement.
Some people just crave attention.
Still the same rules, just some will have another day off besides Saturday. It looks like we are just heading back to the old rules. At which point the unions will be pointless because hey the company will get all they want
Did I mention that I have just 6 working days left and will be officially retired on 6/22/18?
