True in a sense that it's not money in the bank, but it is still official net worth. It's in stock. He could sell the stock.

These billionaires are all heavily weighted by stock value. And it ebb and flows with the wind. In one instance last year, Bezos "made" $6 billion in 20 minutes during a spike in trading.
It's not like he could call his broker and liquidate $80 billion worth of stock.

Yes, and if someone has $100,000 in the bank, they can't get the cash in a day either. You're also saying that people's 401k's are meaningless too. It's just on paper and can take a big hit, but it's still something that's there.

The vast majority of "net worth's" aren't made up of cash.

No kidding. It took my credit union over a week just to get me 20 grand when I had 400 in there. But the casino would charge 5% for a transfer so it was worth the wait. Even then it was form after form, and my wife had to sign one too since her name was on the account.

Seriously people just need to stop shopping amazon they're taking over the world and creating a monopoly. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the government has to step in.
Is your brain still soft? Amazon isn't taking over :censored2:....their distribution network is laughable. Also have you seen their earnings report? Yeah, until Amazon posts a profit or doing business to business deliveries, I'm not going to worry about it.

Bezos is a fake, phoney, fraud, limousine liberal. Why not pay your own people union wages?
I agree. That :censored2: comes up with wild ideas to get investors hyped up but has yet to follow through with any of the really ambitious ones. Did you see their earnings report? Amazon cant even turn a profit. They are going to end up like Pets.com from the .com bubble.

Amazon has earnings, it has growth, and is hiring 100,000 people. Nothing in common with pets.com.

I think I would find somewhere else to invest $400,000 other than just getting peanuts for keeping it in a credit union. Nothing wrong with having a few bucks there but $400,000?

It was only 230k. 4 bed 2 bath 4800 Sq ft with a pool on an acre. It's worth over twice as much now. I know I'll get it when they pass, which I hope is a long time from now, but I hope it makes up for paying my college and the debts that couldn't be settled when my sibling died. And I guess just raising two kids. I know it wasn't easy for them, especially some years.

My thoughts are my parents have had 40 years to put themselves in a financial situation they want. If they aren't their it's because of their choices not mine.
