They do what they do....because they are incapable of doing what you do.

People like you are the foundation of UPS. People like them...are like the curtains in the windows. You keep the structure upright and stable. They just make it look pretty, from the outside.
There, I fixed it for ya. :happy-very:

Yeah buddy, you go right ahead and "stand" now....and be as cocky as you want. Your turn will come too and you'll eat those words.....maybe sooner than you think.:knockedout:

I've seen a lot of "cocky" people cry and beg for their job when they get terminated. When the doo doo hits the fan, the tough guys often have a sudden change of heart.

LOL!!! I`m in the top 10% senority wise and am TOTALLY under the radar, I even have 100% compliance on pickup times! If they want to get rid of one of the top drivers in my center, there are other jobs out there! So be it, not the end of my world!! :happy-very:

No It's not green grocer!
As a steward I probably deal with 100 times as much crap as most of the rest of the hourlies out there and do resent what this company has become. That being said, there are still alot of good people here and I hate to see anyone lose their jobs, especially in this time of uncertainty.

Good luck to all and I truly wish you the best in the future.

I've seen a lot of "cocky" supervisors try and act all tough and intimidating by trying to threaten an employee with termination. When the doo doo hits the grievance panel and their case for disciplinary action is exposed as a complete fraud, these "management tough guys" often have a sudden change of heart also.:happy-very:

I wonder how much money and time is being spent on firing honest hardworking people from ups...there must be a dollar amount for that...and take the dollar amount and mgt hours pursuing this all across the country and the amount would be staggering. I do find it interesting working in this kind of environment, and what we all have to deal with on a regular basis...if your in the line of fire or not. I have family members who are in different unions and their workplace dynamics are nothing compared to ups....

You nailed it! When I have perfect attendence for over 22 years, run scratch, over 20 years safe driving, memorized all the nonsense rhymes, aquire sales leads, have great business relationships with my customers, and still being treated like trash from management that I know can`t last at UPS for long....it is what it is, however small my part is at UPS, I have it down pat! Those that are expendable, bye-bye!!! :happy-very:

Your record is outstanding!!! But unfortunately at UPS the best isnt always good enough....its NEVER good enough. Even the lower and middle of the pack folks would be considered good drivers at other companies. And its not that management can make a decision what kind of driver you are...its all boiled down to some person in an office somewhere who has a job as a number cruncher...they could never go out there and run the numbers that they expect drivers to do on a daily basis...it all boils down to that number in the over allowed, under allowed column..period.

I wonder if there are going to be a few "separated" mgt out there who come on here and "spill the beans" about life and love here at ups....might be intereting to hear from ie folks about things also???

Some mgt really believe that they, the managers and supervisors, are ups...period. They feel that if it wasnt for them doing what they have to do, then the evil union would try to shut the company down....they honestly believe that most union folks want to see the company go under and NOTHING could be farther from truth!

How true. It just so happens I currently now have a center manager that has been around a long time and treats the drivers with respect and dignity, probally why he gets such good results.....nice knowing your center manager will return favors ; days off,etc....

That must be a breath of fresh air, enjoy it while you can because you never know when a new one will come in. Im surprised IE hasnt done a study on being able to get 2% more production out of people if they "feel" they are being treated with dignity and respect...lol. But honestly, it makes so much more sense to have a productive and happy workplace..it makes teamwork just so much easier...Overall, we work in a hostile environment...period. Everybody knows it and nobody wants to, or cant do anything about it.

I could have been one of those admins leaving on May 28th, but my group was given an extension throughout the months of June and July and then some of us are leaving and some of us are moving on to jobs that we were given. The job choices given was BS. If I didn't need a job to support my family, I would have left UPS. As a 20+ year employee of UPS, I do not like what this company has become. It is no longer a "family" but a fortune 500 company. It all about the numbers. Once I reach the age to retire, I am out of here. No looking back.
