@tonyexpress and @cheryl , (or anyone!) ever been to Catalina Island? Anything I shouldn't miss?
When I was growing up my parents had a boat so we went to Catalina for the weekend many many times.

When you're walking down the pier to the town to the left of the pier there is a beach. There was a popular restaurant/bar on the main street. The Casino is a beautiful art deco building to the right down the main street. If you like that kind of architecture it's definitely worth touring.

If you like to snorkel we used to see a lot of Garibaldi while snorkeling there. The water was a little cold for me so I always had to wear a wet suit.

We also used to rent bikes and explore the streets. There were also golf carts for rent.

The back side of the island was pretty much wilderness that had campgrounds and areas with wild buffalo.

I haven't been to Catalina for many years tho so there is probably different stuff to do now.

Make sure you hit the Catalina Wine Mixer.
OK, funny story. I had no idea what you meant by this, buuuttt...
Coming back from Catalina, I see many people who are wearing shirts that say this. Wow, I'm thinking, that must have been a hell of an excursion!
And now, I know it's from a movie.

Sailing outta NY soon. Anyone wanna come?

We were just considering taking a cruise that leaves from New York / New Jersey in September on Adventure of the Seas. Mainly because we could spend a couple of days in New York before or after. We have gone through that airport dozens of times, but have never actually experienced NYC.

I think people either love or hate NYC. You’ll probably love it because you guys seem like adventurous kind of people. I love NYC. Never a boring moment.

We spent a few day in NY a few years ago. So many things we didn't get to do! My favorite was Times Square at night, simply awesome.

Sad story about Harambe. Harambe was an innocent victim and brings into question whether this type of animal should be held in captivity. We can blame the parents and the Zoo but....

As far as New York, maybe next year as we have other travel plans to keep us busy.

But... maybe people like me who pay to see these animals (like my recent post in How's the view) are also to blame. :whiteflag: However, how would we ever see them unless we went on a real Safari?
