CALIFORNIA TO START NEW WEALTH TAX!

Imagine what might get taxed and at what rate when it’s time for Californians to pay for slavery reparations. That 5% home sale tax will seem like nothing in comparison.

America was better when taxes were higher

No comparison to 1950s america to reagan or clinton america
In the 50's a very large percentage of Americans worked in factories. It pays better than service jobs but that's a hard life. So depends who you talk to as to which is better. Doubt many Americans would go back to pre-internet and factory work.

the economy had low debt = low housing prices

a man could get a good paying job and support a family.

factory work was obviously better than service sector economy....thats why trump talks about bringing manufacturing back!

OK, in the 50's majority of married women stayed home. Once women started working more in the workforce there was more spendable income and prices started rising. Families started having less kids and the divorce rate rose. Do you think we're going back to women staying home while their husbands work? Do you think with smaller families we have enough young people to work in all those factories and buy all the products the factories put out? Those factories would have to sell overseas too so how are they going to compete with factories overseas with much lower labor costs? We still have manufacturing in the States, it isn't all gone. But it's usually very high value added equipment like medical equipment. It's not mass produced clothes, shoes, phones, etc. Highly unlikely that'll come back. May go to places like Mexico to get away from China.

housing prices here got out of control in 2000. thats because the govt stopped building affordable housing.

wages flattened after 1973. women mistook working for liberation. you have much much less manufacturing than before. its probably financialization which ruined US economy. you shouldnt allow products made from overseas sweat shops to be allowed into america (thats what i think).

You still haven't told me how all that's going to be fixed. The genie is out of the bottle.

revolution

it starts with the man in the mirror. stop being a passive consumer of information and start acting in a way to change the world

We're going to kill people in order to get factories back into the States and force people to work in them? Seriously?
