Calling out UPS and the Safety crew

longtime lurker- 1st off, thanks for all the great info and those that contribute. Learned more here about EVERYTHING ups.... then from going to any union meeting..

I know there is another thread on the weather- and I do appreciate the humor...
This is serious... today.

My experience.. work at an airport hub.. basically 90 % of us are only there for benefits. 90 % part-timers, and would estimate 80% work 2 jobs. Working poor... basically. Frankly starting to think.... "working stupid" .

So, my experience last night.... it was -24 friend temperature. -50 windchills.
Our PCM? How many safe work days.... we have.

As they are parking their dang runway equipment in the middle of the building to keep them warmed up.... Black smoke plummeting...

I'm working next to people who jumped their cars to get into work. Who don't have heat in them.

Amazon is closed here today. As is USPS. Multiple other businesses.
UPS... not just UPS corporate... but my union bros on the safety committees... and the teamsters in general- it is in the actions.. not the words. The couldn't give a damn about safety... anyone but themselves. (they were the one's calling out yesterday)

To me.... I think of them... as not the "strong, tough guys...." To me UPS corporate, my union, and the safety committee are cowards. (Do hope they are reading this!)

So why am I bothering to post this? Well... at least it is in print... If someone does get hurt... cause UPS has to... be open. May help them if an attorney does an internet search someday.

And safety committee members, do know- anyone CAN sue anyone for anything. YOU included, personally... Neither UPS or the teamsters have indemnified you. And if you haven't spoken up, done something in writing. Someone loses a life or limb... or just plain has an asthma attack on the runway, or inside with your machines warming up.
Forget the unplowed walkways... black ice...
Cowards, I don't understand.

Why are you not on the committee?

In most states you can't sue your employer or other employees for negligence.

That is the main purpose of worker's comp.

The part I disagree with is imposing massive taxes on fossil fuels, raising everyone’s taxes and then handing the money over to their green energy cronies/special interests.

Or the green new deal aka economy killer.
Right. What particular taxes are you speaking of? You're beginning to troll back to the standard Faux news rebuttal, using "Taxes" as an excuse. Next you'll be blaming Global warming entirely on Mexicans and Socialists.

As for cronies and Special interest groups getting paid, Russia says hello and Mr. Deripaska says "thanks" for lifting the sanctions..

How do you think they are realistically going to pay for trillion dollar entitlements and subsidies? Bill gates and the rest of them don’t got that kind of money.

What "trillion dollar entitlement and subsidy" are you speaking of?

Bill Gates himself is worth over 3 Billion...
World's eight richest people have same wealth as poorest 50%
World's eight richest people have same wealth as poorest 50%

Great job Donald. The rich keep getting richer, while the poor are getting poorer. MAGA!

Are you not familar with Medicare for all and the green new deal?

How do they plan on paying for that?

You could take every penny from the billionaires and millionaires and still not cover the estimated 32 trillion dollar(off top of my head) cost over 10 years for universal health care. I think the green new deal’s UBI is estimated at 3 trillion annually and 30 trillion over 10 years.

I’m just saying be honest with yourself, it’s not just the rich that will be picking up the tab, this will place massive tax burdens on everyone but the people impoverished. The impoverished people will more than likely end up losing buying power with currency inflation.

It’s easy to go off political buzzwords like the rich are going to pay their fair share, “free”(insert entitlement) for all or even build the wall! Political buzzwords don’t pay the tab.

We have about 127 million households in America, per Census Bureau. The average working family paid $6000 a year in premiums and deductions to private insurance companies.

And your proposed solutions is having them not only subsides the elderly, poor and pre exsisting condition folk, but everyone. K.

I agree with libertarians on this one.

This is just bizarre to me. They cry about 5 billion for a wall and then come out with proposals that will cost over 1,200 times the wall.
What's most bizarre, is your comparison of healthcare-for-all to the wall.

Big picture, Trump already is adding over $5.6 Trillion to our national debt. Our debt has never been higher. If he didn't get his wall in his first two years, when GOP held the majority in both congress and the house, no way he'll ever get it now. Remember he owned-up to the Government shut down, too.

Lets get back to global warming, and how Republicans don't care.
Or we can swing it a different way and go FULL "tin-foil hat" conspiracy theory. Russia, Putin and Trump are FOR global warming. They want the Northern shipping lanes open year-round. $$$$$$

Be careful about that data. It is based on current private market expenditures, of those industries, the pharmaceutical side of things, drug preparation and distribution, EARNS 32 billion a year in net revenue.

It really is a downward spiral of monopoly money changing hands.
