Cameras in Trucks

Dano and logic dont even belong in the same sentence. Poor guy. Guess he tries to pretend he is some bad ass Henry Rollins knockoff of the late 70's punk band Black Flag based on his avatar.

Rollins didn't join until the 80s and he sucked. Morris and Cadena all the way! Ron Reyes sucked, too.

Since you do not work/drive for the company of course it will not effect you. The question is why do you still post???

*Affect.

Since you are not a driver, why do you have an opinion on this other to act like the troll that you are?

My, you sure are sensitive.

Yea...Thats the bands logo and was created for them. With him trying to always come off as the smartest man in the room I am sure he will try and tell everyone that its actually from the Bolshevik revolution or some kind of crap. As for Dano needing an escort, I think that could be a good thing in his life. It could get his mind off Brown Cafe for 24 hours.

You were always a reasonable poster until I made a comment about wages, bills, and personal finance.

We got a couple new Sprinters. They have radios, cruise control, push button start, navigation, Bluetooth and blind spot indicators among other stuff like steering wheel controls. Word is they will be first with cameras. I haven't driven one only seen them in the lineup.

If this was my truck I would not be happy about the label stuck on the dash. [edit: smudge the nav map a little]

The only thing I've heard regarding cameras is RTD.

The most I have heard about the cameras is from here. No manager talk at station, just another courier said they would have cameras. But his isn't one that uses the new trucks anyway, not even his loop, so not sure where he heard it.

He probably heard it inside his own head. For the present time at least, couriers will not be affected by the onboard camera edict. These are for actual trucks - not delivery vans (I know I probably have not stated that enough times already)

I haven’t heard any thing else about it other than I had to go in and acknowledge it in the system. Was wondering if I had to do it cuz I have a CDL and maybe it lumped me in with RTD. I have not heard a work from any other courier about it.

That is fancy! Wonder how long that radio will last?

Precursor to AI/Robotic functional system. Driver will simply be providing data to phase in their own obsolescence.

Welcome to your future.

They mandated Linehaul get the cameras about 3 years ago for Ground. The mandate for delivery trucks takes effect over the next couple of years. FedEx will likely appreciate the results on the tractor side and expand to delivery vehicles. Just a matter of time.

Ground seems to be the guinea pigs for most things so it might be quite some time down the road before we see cameras in Express del trucks.

Some couriers at Express stations have had to sign off on cameras. After doing a little research, it appears to be only those who have CDL in their job title. My guess is they are coming to RTDs and the straight trucks at the heavyweight stations at this time.

The only thing I've heard regarding cameras is RTD.

I ran into a former RTD co-worker today and he told me about the cameras. Good idea if they were just pointed at traffic, but he said they'll also monitor the driver.

I see a lot of fired RTDs in the near future, and a FedEx even shorter on CDL-A drivers. Shoot self in foot, Fredward.
