Can New, Low Seniority Feeder be Sent to Package?

Hey all,

It looks like the time has come physically for me to move on to feeder. The company wants to normalize our new volume, and no thanks.

My question: if I go feeder and pass probation and become a coded FT feeder, can they force me to a random hub to cover package if there's no work for me?

Basically, I'm toast physically. I can't and never want to step in and out of a car more than 200 times ever again. Feeder is my last ditch effort to stay in this career, or I'm tapping out (cause I sure as :censored2: ain't going management).

Thanks for answers and sorry if its been asked before.

Here once you gain seniority if you go back to package when feeder work slows you go back(your choice) as the low senior driver. Or you can bump into car wash or some other building job. If you have not gained seniority in feeders and go back you go back to your bid run.

Here (Atlantic) you can be sent back as long as you're still on the Q list, but once you actually bid into feeder classification it's your choice if you get laid off. You can bump back to package or just stay home.

I did the same thing as you. Here in SoCal you get sent back to your package center but they’re so short on drivers now nobody is getting sent back. The only thing that sucks about being a new feeder driver is not getting enough sleep

it depends on your work center. In ours it was up to driver. If there was no feeder work you could either sit at home or work in package or the hub depending on seniority. we are a right to work state ( NV )

They did it all the time in Central. You want to hear someone cry --- be there when a feeder drive is told they will be going to package for awhile. (Funny as hell).

You had 6 package cars in your little shed. Only time you saw a feeder driver is when they broke down and had to wait.

At one time we had 5 feeder routes but we ended up with only one because our center manager was too lazy to fight for them.

When I first started our center was serviced by ONE 52 foot trailer that also went on and serviced another center farther north. Most days the trailer was only about 3/4 full handling BOTH centers. Have I told you lately how tough we had it?

So long story short....
