Chicago Seems to be Doing Well

This is what most trump supporters care about with politics. Demonizing a city as a hot bed of crime while trump is president as if that vindicates trump as president, how does that make sense? Is trump not the president of Chicago? So if crime is so bad, how doesn't that implicate trump as a failure? It is all irrational nonsense, but see it makes sense if you see the city of Chicago as filled with Americans who are members of outgroups who don't count as real American, so since they aren't apart of real America, crime in Chicago isn't indicative of real America and therefore trump isn't responsible. These kinds of threads are so silly and sad at the same time.

You need a civics lesson.

What does a civics lesson have anything to do with my post? The office of the presidency has a responsibility to the citizens of every place and citizen in America. So my pointing out that trump fans demonizing an American city as exploding with crime, doesn't make sense, because as president exploding crime in an American city reflects badly on trump's presidency. Citing crime in any city as a trump fan can only make sense if you don't view the citizens of that city or at least the citizens you think are committing crimes as real Americans and therefore believe the crime committed in that city doesn't reflect real America and therefore that crime doesn't reflect badly on trump.

Thanks for identifying yourself as an anarchist.

Wonder how well your business will thrive in such an environment.
If that’s what you want to call it. I’m just glad it’s not going away in a news cycle. My own personal memory of this crap goes back to watching the slowed down beating of Rodney King and a justice system that said that was all perfectly fine police work. And it keeps happening over and over and over again. And you don’t see the problem?

Hey, if it takes more rioting and looting and burning to get to the point where people have a life in America where it makes a difference whether they riot or not, I’m all for it. If not, as the Mad King would say:

I am advocating rebuilding that which needs rebuilding.

You think it’s all ok. I disagree and no longer believe in small changes around the edges. If it takes letting the whole damn thing burn, then I’m all for it.

First, I never agreed it's all okay. I learned as a child what prejudice and discrimination is, from experience. I learned what racism in myself was from an elderly black neighbor. I try to eliminate all vestiges of all three from who I am as a human.

I also learned personal responsibility, and accepted my role in contributing to society. These are the virtues I see missing from the protestors/vandals/rioters. And you support them and their lawlessness.

I’m indifferent to their lawlessness. I don’t need it to understand the race problems in the country. Some do.

That's your issue ... you see it as a Police on Black thing ... I see it as police on people thing.
That doesn't happen to just Blacks, ity happens to Whites too.
My wife's nephew (Total dumbbutt like Rodney) died in the hands of the police.

Take a civics course and you will find out why what you are saying makes no sense. Here's a couple of spoilers, separation of powers, states rights, federal vs state law vs city ordinance. The President can't do anything if cities won't clean up their own crime problems, until or unless those problems rise to the point where federal jurisdiction takes over.

You're indifferent until it hits your neighborhood, your family. If you're going to stand by while your children get attacked on the way to school or your business gets firebombed and say that's life then you are definitely part of the problem.

Not sure about that. Although considering the origins of policing, I do tilt in that direction. I’m astounded that white people take police brutalization so in stride.

But there are far too many instances of blacks being manhandled and “questioned” for just being “suspicious”. If you haven’t seen the hundreds of videos, you just don’t want to.

Nope. Ready to see it all go up in flames. Have to be. Cuz it’s not all about me.
So get this. My nieces are half black and it’s beautifully obvious. To meet all three of my kids, you’d never guess they were a quarter black. So am I just supposed to sit back and be happy that my kids won’t have that initial discrimination by society? Because we all say it’s wrong and we all know it happens. When and how do we fix it? How deep does it run and what’s it going to take to keep a sustained and effective campaign of change going on? Does every city have to go up in flames? Ok. If that’s what it takes because the civil right movement was 56 years ago and we have a long way to go.

Thank God President Trump is such a unifying force!

Rrrrrrrrrraaaaaciiiiiiisttttttt!

Hmmm. Look at that. I’m guessing violence sells. It gets attention. And you think the violence is a bad thing? Or is it that y’all are ok with the :censored2:s when they’re well spoken and polite about reforms that are never gonna happen?

Do all you internet historians that now know about MLK know anything about Malcom X?
