I'm putting down ethnocentrism, which is rampant in this country. Americans have an incredible superiority complex.

Because our country is about ideas, freedom and individual achievement.

Great point. Americans think of themselves as superior...they're not. There are plenty of smart, successful people in every culture/ethnicity. Americans definitely have more opportunity than most other cultures, which for the most part, they don't utilize.

Foreigners often come here to get an education, and then go home to actually use it, many times because they can't stay here and work. Americans have an "entitlement" attitude, which they often bring with them when they travel. When my family travels, we are "Canadians", and since we spend plenty of time there, we can pass as Canadians with the locals.


I've been to Europe twice during the last 3 years, and attitudes toward Americans are changing quickly. Most detest Trump, and that just adds to the dislike factor.

BS, I've been to Europe as well, not just in the last three years you target. I wonder why you say 3 years, you could have just said since Trump's election, your meaning was obvious.
American's have been view as smug and arrogant there for a long time. I prefer to call it jealousy on their part, older folks in France did seem to appreciate an American more, I guess they view things in a different light.

I have disdain for my country right now because America is a bully and a wimp simultaneously,mainly thanks to Trump. I know you don't travel much from Mom's basement, but if you maybe went around the world a bit and experienced other cultures and places, you'd see the USA isn't all that great.

Sure, we can blow anyone in the world apart like Team America World Police, but we're not the nirvana you imagine. Lots of countries have far better healthcare, transit systems, and quality of life. Sure, they are probably "socialist lite" countries, but you definitely get back what you pay for, especially when you retire, and you can actually retire and not worry about getting health care.

For you, 'Murica is the greatest, and Trump is making it "greater". If you would occasionally read, travel, or exercise your brain, you'd find he's actually making enemies of most of the world, and threatening your quality of life.

We already know he wants to kill the ACA, and roll-back any and all regulations that fetter making more money for Big Business.
