That's letting them off too easily. The biggest consequence to winning elections is that the winners have to govern. I know. It's a bitch.

I kind of agree. I think a president should go into the job thinking 4 years. cut the spending and take the hit on the starving childrens argument and plan to be out of office in four years. realitiscally the last two presidents and their congresses have avoided that heart ache and thus we are where we are. 20 trillion in the hole.
