Commute Times: How Far is Too Far?

I drive 25 minutes, 30 in winter. But it's 22 miles, so no traffic. I realize for some of you 22 miles might be 2 hours. Eff that.

It's the perfect amount of time to get into work mode, and leave work at the center. I like my commute.

Mine is 18 minutes each way. You don't want to be down the road from work as it's not enough time for your car to warm up. I say 45 minutes is max for the long-term. Once you're permanent, move within 30 minutes if possible.
 
they've done studies that show people don't tolerate commutes longer then 30-45 min without eventually moving or changing jobs

much like a 10-15min walk is the limit for walkable urban density, between these two it matches city sizes back thousands of years
