MDA does not use the cameras on DIAD6 for anything because it has a built-in imager for scanning. For consumer model/helper phones, the rear camera is used for scanning.
Also, if you accidentally have it on the map screen before you put it in the cradle(which is easy to do cuz the touchscreen sucks) bye bye, Auto crash.

I think they mean the stupid stop overview screen you get when you select a stop without scanning. that screen crashes the diad half the time and that likelihood probably increases to nearly %100 when stuck in the cradle.
