Are you really that oblivious? Anyone with a modest IQ knows a 25 day supply refers to ‘at the current level of refining.’ That might be sufficient to sustain commerce, but would be disastrous if we were to have to, say, defend our country militarily.

Clarity of thought can be sobering.
Absolutely I knew that. That’s not the line republicans were pushing before the election.

A drop in the bucket. Plus with the current high oil prices the US will make a tidy profit and than refill at lower prices.
the reserves are sold at auction to the highest bidder. that buyer can then ship the oil overseas if they so choose as has happened with this recent release.
so while we believe the strategic oil reserves are for americans only it does not work out that way.

In fact, I was the first to point out the clarity of thought.

You’re welcome.

Except that it does work that way. More oil into the market drives the overall price down which drives the cost down domestically as well.

They would have to release about 20 times the amount released to have a significant impact on oil prices. The little they released had little to no impact. It was typical government smoke and mirrors.

Don't worry this will be fixed by 2035.
When CA insists that all trucks be electric and no diesels will be allowed to operate on any CA roads.

The US election is over and now they're raising production.

Shocking.
OPEC has denied that there's any truth to that story. At the same time I'm not surprised that you guys are paying absolutely zero attention to a bigger story.....BP Rotterdam......BP Rotterdam is the largest refinery in Europe and it makes a whole lot of diesel. It has been offline since September due to some type of major breakdown. In the meantime agreement on a new union contract could not be achieved and the sides are far apart. Earlier today the union having given plenty of advanced warning went on strike.

Why isn't Biden doing anything about the Rotterdam refinery? Another Democratic fail! Trump would have fixed it is he was president!
