FMLA and Seniority

So my buddy is kind of sick, and should probably take a break from his preload shifts to get some tests run, maybe even recuperate. I keep telling him to look into FMLA, but he keeps insisting it will mess up his seniority and won't.

Does taking a leave on FMLA suspend your seniority or reset it in any way? Dude is stubborn and probably won't listen, but figured I would ask.

Ohhh goodness, I think about 2-2.5 years at this point, maybe more.

He's got fmla then. Nothing should be effected.

Why not just take a few days off to get his tests and get a doctors note?

Article 16 of the Master
The employee’s seniority rights shall continue as if the employee
had not taken leave under this section, and the Employer will main-
tain health insurance coverage during the period of the leave.
