NY plans on having a law soon that would require everyone who wishes to purchase a firearm to be first has a Psychological evaluation done. This would be required for every purchase.
For people living outside of the cities, this could create a hardship seeing that they would have to travel a city just to visit a doctor. Local gun shops might just have to close if I doctor is not close by.
Forget about any sales at gun shows without a doctor in the room
Forget about transferring guns within families.
This is the same state that lets all criminals go free on no bail, so that they can commit more crimes, while the general population is unable to defend themselves.
