Yes you are. Come up with some hard facts not Google search assumptions. I doubt Russia has to be the supplier of guns to the U.K. as members of the E.U. are manufacturers of some of the finest handguns made. Italy,Austria,Switzerland, France, and yes even your beloved motherland Germany.

Unlike the Canadian unemployment system smuggling guns into the U.k. doesn`t need a rocket scientist to figure out.

I don't need to google when it comes to Europe. It's called first hand knowlege !
Guess what, Switzerland doesn't belong to the EU.
And guess what else ? Germany, France, and all those countries also manufacture hand granades, fighter jets, and other military weapons and bombs.
England even manufactures guns, that doesn't mean they are available for the public !
Buying 1 is a different story !

Go, spend a few bucks, take a European vacation. You can then tell me if you were able to buy a handgun legally or not !
They have pawnshops, too, just like here. Just you won't see any guns in them !

Utah has a state flower, a state fossil, a state cooking pot and 21 other official symbols. It might soon add a state gun.
The state House passed a measure Wednesday, by a 51-19 vote, that would make the Browning M1911 pistol - designed by Utah’s John Moses Browning in the early 20th century - the state firearm. The bill now goes to the state Senate.
The bill's sponsor, Republican Rep. Carl Wimmer, has said the measure aims to honor Browning. His M1911 was used as a standard U.S. Army sidearm from 1911 to 1985, according to the Browning manufacturing company's website and Jane's Infantry Weapons.

First hand knowledge? by your own admittance you left at 27 which was 22 or so years ago? You`ve admitted lack of knowledge about the new laws. Where did I mention buying a gun legally? I mentioned manufactures. Makes a big difference in your attempt to have a comeback.

Try focusing through the liquor fog on what people write and try and comprehend before you retort.

P.S. I have been to Europe, much more recently than you have.

I was back there in year 2000, the last time, yes, almost 11 years ago !
But I still have tons of contact over there, as you know on my facebook.

Cielo for example, was my highschool crush back in those days. She is originally from Spain, immigrated to Germany with family, as a very young child.
And I have 3 or 4 other germans on my fb.
Others , that I stay in contact with, either don't have fb or internet.
But, I make the odd calls now and then.

Anyways, enough of that.
I know Americans don't want to be like the other western countries (strict gun laws, government universal healthcare, earlier retirement, 6 weeks vacation for everyone, to name a few), and so be it.

:happy-very:Along with massive civil unrest, riots, murders, and attempted overthrow of governments due to unsustainable socialist programs. I agree 100% we do not want to go down that road.

Yup, Greece because they raised retirement age from 55 to 60. France same thing : from 60 to 63.
And English students recently, because of higher tuition fees.

The public has a voice there. Sounds pretty democratic to me.

Lets see what happens in the US when these cuts take place (it's a matter of when, not if) !
Will the American people be lame ducks and just swallow all the bad news, or will they demostrate ?

Btw, you folks did pretty good yourself with the healthcare reform, and the tea party demos.
When the average person living outside the US watches that on the news, they automatically think it's the whole country demostrating, but in reality it's mostly concentrated in the capital, and perhaps a few other cities.
I see you have fallen to the same conclusion, and think the whole country is rioting !

Your unsustainable socialist programs , medicare, medicaid, and SS - same thing isn't it ?
Atleast the European governments are doing something to make them last and continue.

The murder rate is Europe remains 100 times lower then in the US per capita !

And when was the last time a EU Government has been overthrown ? And which country ? Because , I sure can't remember that far back !
I wasn't born yet ! And if, I'm wrong and mistaken, the better for the people - they have spoken, - can't get more democratic then that if they have the power to do so.
But, I personally can't recall any Euro nation being under military power, until a new leader (government) was put in place.
(besides ofcourse Yugoslavia (civil war), and perhaps an eastern block country that joined the west, after the fall of the wall).

And Yogoslavia was really never a part of western Europe, they were an Allie to Russia, and under communist regime.

You folks sure screwed that one up, eh ?
if you solely won WW2, then why did almost half of Europe belong to the Russians afterwards ?

Klein...why dont you just say "I hate America" after everything you post...we get it already. :)

Yeah, hate it soo much, I'll be there next week again. Spend the whole month there.
Can I just say, I hate republicans that gave tax breaks to the rich, and letting the poor and average pay for it ?

More, I won't even go to that link. You know why ?
Because those tax cuts could have gone to reboost the Social Security bennies.

Just like the US, Canada has some people who don't put money aside for retirement. Some reley only on a government pension.
And that is not enough to survive on.

Face it, some people just don't care about the future, and that's why it comes in handy if the governments basically force you to save for SS (by taking more from your paycheck).

If SS does run out, the poor will still be subsidized thru housing, food stamps, and pocket money, and the others will just need to pay even more taxes for them !

I understand you are retired More, and you are receiving SS, others in the future will get very little of it, if any.
In 24 years (2035) it's all gone, if nothing is done !

Are a few dollars taxbreak per week, worth more then losing SS ?
I agree, some won't need SS, but they will still need to pay for those that do need it, somehow.

Unless, ofcourse we will see TV shows displaying starving elderly Americans in America on TV, instead of the starving children in African Nations we see today trying to raise money.

It used to be I would tell you to get to work and stay out of our country but after you explained how your cashing in bonds ,and are close to becoming a millionaire just from recycling your beer cans, etc, I now encourage you to extend you slacker vacation and use up all your resources. When you have spent all your money, and all you found in the discarded wallets in the cellar, and have to return to work far longer than you would have had not gone on a "I`m deserving" extended vacation I am going to kick back in retirement in one of my houses and relax laughing the whole time.

You`re like a immature teen who gets his first credit card. Spend away,Klein, spend away.

Because as the victors, a word Germany does`t have in it`s vocabulary, we got to divy up all that we conquered. We`re 2 and 0 with you trouble makers.
ziehen Sie `t ist ein wunder Verlierer an.

P.S. when your down here and you hear this played, you stand and remove your hat. Just a hint, it`s not the German or Canadian version.

To your knowlege, I actually just applied yesterday for a terrific job !
Starting wage is 30% higher then at UPS, and toprate is 25% higher.
My starting wage would actually be 10% higher then the last wage I got at UPS.

I couldn't refuse not to apply. And they are looking for 60 newbies !
I should atleast make it to an interview I hope.
The job sounds like soo much fun, that I might not even retire in 5 years, and rather enjoy doing more years of it.
And no lifting or door to door walking.

Subject: World's Largest Army

In WWII, Japan 's highest ranking naval officer was Isoruku Yamamoto.
Although he was Japanese, and his loyalties were unquestionably with The Empire, he studied for many years in America, graduating from Harvard University. There is an oft-repeated (and sometimes disputed) quote attributed to him regarding the possibility of any nation taking a war to American soil:

"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a
rifle behind every blade of grass."

Here is why he is correct. America's Hunters. "The World's Largest Army".
The state of Wisconsin has gone an entire deer hunting season without someone getting killed. That's great, considering there were over 600,000 hunters that got permits this year.

Allow me to restate that number. Over the last two months, "the eighth largest army in the world" - more men under arms than Iran ; more than France and Germany combined - deployed to the woods of a single American state to keep the deer population under control.

But that pales in comparison to the 750,000 who are in the woods of Pennsylvania this week. Michigan 's 700,000 hunters have now returned home. Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia , and it is literally the case that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world.

And that is just FOUR states. The total population of "registered hunters" in America today ranges from 23 million to 43.7 million individuals. (Based on annual data provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.)
As long as the American Hunter retains his right to Bear Arms, America will forever be safe from foreign invasion of troops.

Hunting - it's not just a way to fill the freezer. "It's a matter of national security".

More, you really need to come up here !
Deer... they walk up to your homes, sniff around.... my brothers and my mothers place esspecially.
The dogs don't even bother them.

We just let them live their lives, and it's actually neat to have them come and visit every so often.
It's nature at it's best.

I'm surrounded by rabbits myself... and they are soo cute, esspecially now... snow white bunnies :)
Those darn things are like gophers.. they see me driving up... and they suddenly appear, but then they start running as if they want to race !

Don't get me wrong we do have hunters as well. Just not as many or the percentage you have.
And Deer, only few hunt for that. Does make good sausage with porkfat added, and thats about it.
The meat is too tough.
Most prefer Moose or even Elk.
Moose meat I love ! :)
