Thats what im talking about, you celebrate the deaths of 82 thousand people as a victory and not an aberration.

As if ANY number of deaths is an acceptable level. Over the christmas holidays, there were shootings of family members all across this country. Gun deaths reigned over the holidays and gun owners look the other way and ignore the fact that guns were used NOT against intruders, atttackers, robbers, carkackers,rapists, kidnappers and such, but in simple cases of domestic violence.



This is exactly the mindset of a gun owner who wants to settle his domestic problems quickly.

The promotion of guns is a promotion for gun violence. Cowards use guns to settle domestic problems where a wife and children are killed, but the act started with the coward purchasing the gun in the first place to "defend" himself.

Yup, here is just 1 US family that got totally wiped out on Christmas Day by a gun.

GRAPEVINE, Texas — Seven people believed to be related had opened their Christmas gifts and started cleaning up the wrapping paper when they were shot to death in a suburban Fort Worth apartment, police said Sunday.

I didn't realize a gun was able to load itself, walk itself into that family's home, and pull its own trigger all without the help of a human. Must be one sinisterly smart gun!

Take the life of an intruder, happily. Taking life through an abortion, unfortunate that possibly one of the other choices (especially birth control preventing said pregnancy) wasn`t the better one.

Absolutely. Much faster than your way, on your knees begging while the intruder plays musical chairs with your family`s bodily orifices. Bet after you get done watching that, if you`re allowed to live, you`ll want to stick a gun in your mouth to get it out of your head.

Yep. The same kind of coward that will take his hand to his woman, a belt to his kids, a knife to his neighbor. A coward is a coward, just not all of them use a gun to get a set of balls. Some live behind gates.

This is the typical mindset of the typical gun owner. Human deaths mean nothing. People get killed and if they get killed with a gun its "cleaner, more efficient". I dont think gun owners who think like this out loud even know what they are saying half the time.

I am really starting to get tired of your bigoted statements.

You lump all gun owners into one, monolithic group and then perpetuate ignorant stereotypes about them simply because you dont like guns.

You have no right to make assumptions about my mindset or the value I place on human life simply because I own a gun.

What is amazing to me is that I read your posts in other sections of this forum and for the most part I agree with what you have to say. You are articulate, you are intelligent, and you are an excellent advocate for union issues at UPS.

But when the subject turns to guns...all of that goes out the window and you have nothing to offer but ignorant, bigoted stereotypes. Its really kind of sad, and its really starting to rub this fellow union member the wrong way. I dont care for the broad brush you are choosing to paint me with.

A brother of mine used a rifle to end his life.

And, no, I don't believe he would have killed himself otherwise.
It takes guts to try to hang yourself, or use a razer blade, and it's not always successful either.
Add to that - would take a lot of more thought and time and suffering, which I know he wouldn't have been able to do.

Because I was ready to shoot myself, only if I had a gun.
It was out of medical reasons (being in so much pain), and not thinking straight.
Trust me, when you're a very deep pain your mind gets affected, too.

Luckily my brother gave me a surprise visit soon afterwards and took me to the hospital.
I got a morphine shot and treatments for a couple of weeks.
Came out healthier as ever.
Simple as that.

It sounds stupid that I didn't call 911 on my own. But, like I said - with major pain it's almost impossible to think straight.
Oh yeah, took some very strong over the counter medication, too, which US citizens would need a prescription to get, but luckily we are more open here.
Tylenol 1 with codine, and other codine tablets.
I bought and used them both.

I feel terrible for the victims and families of victims of tragic and senseless deaths of any form, including guns. But common sense will tell us that the gun, it's self did nothing, Left untouched a loaded gun has never killed anyone. Somewhere there is a person that acted in an illegal or irresponsible manner.
How many people go on boycotts of automobiles when a fatality results from an auto accident or any of the other accidental deaths as have been mentioned?

I would suggest that if you didn't consider any other means of ending your live, you would not have done so with a gun either. The thing is people can easily say they would do "this or that" if put in that position, but until you have the gun in you hand, you do not really know what you would do.
Even if you had access to a gun at the time, the gun would not be the reason for the suicide but the state of YOUR mind.


Oh and just so you know, all suicide attempts with a gun are nor successful, leaving vegetable behind.
