Well VanT since you have plainly stated your plans not to stay in the country what difference does it make how I about this country ?
You seem to be awfully judgemental lately. I'm sorry Obama didn't bring you socialism by now. Must be tough getting through each day with capitalism everywhere. Hang in there!

You are the guy who has plainly stated over and over again that your future plans do not include continuing to live here in the United States. That being the case what does anybody owe you?. After all you plainly stated that you can't go until your retirement income is secured courtesy of your U.S. based employment, your U.S. derived pension and of course Social Security. You know that evil socialist pension plan that you'll be holding your hand out for, despite the fact that your entire Social Security contribution will be drawn out withing 3 years after you retire leaving it up to someone else to keep in going and don't forget that equally evil socialist health care plan called Medicare and if you have to quit work before you qualify for Medicare and have to pay for your own health insurance rest assured you will turn to Obamacare for help with the premiums.

At least I'm not "shill" or Uncle Fred went to a whole lot of trouble giving me a good cover.:euro:

Those are my grandsons. My son in law is in the Army and I have no say how their hair is cut.

Kids are great but there is nothing in this world like grandchildren. I am blessed to have four. I started early (no it wasn't with my cousin)

I am much more a libertarian than I am a tea party dude. Most Republicans are RINO's and waste just as much tax dollars as the democrats do, case in point the Sheriff in the county..lol

Both of my Toyota's were built/assembled here. I had ONE Detroit product in my life, my first one and last one. I really like the 54.5 mpg my Prius gets..(see I do have a little green liberal in me). Saves me green at the gas pump.

We can agree to disagree, that's what makes America great. At least we don't get shot for expressing our different opinions.

Don't have to worry about the KaBar banner. It "vanished" the other night. I guess the storm carried it away and cut the zip ties as well. I should have used my 2nd Amendment right to protect my first Amendment right of free speech. I guess it was a little awkward to have that sign at Hwy 75 and 126...might have shown up on Southern Injustice.

The stakes will stay in the ground until election day. I'm just hanging on to the shop until medical makes it's way to 10-E-C. There will be much more money in "medicine" than in AR's and AK's. My kids are stationed in Colorado and I have seen how much green there is to be made in the business.

After all it's Tennessee's number 2 cash crop, we are just missing out on the revenue. I will give the President credit on that one. We have more serious problems in the country that spending millions fighting a weed.

Have a safe and happy Independence day.... be careful when you blow stuff up.

I'm already bored and have 2 more weeks of stay cation. View attachment 86886
I wouldn't count on Tennessee passing medical unless you can prove the Holy spirit smoked a joint once in a while.;)

Why does that bother you so much? I used to wonder why the communists wouldn't just let people go who didn't want to stay in their countries. I've come to realize there are people everywhere who just can't handle losing control of others. You're creating this massive nanny state and we must all stay and participate until our last breath. Well I've done my part. You say I'll draw down my SS 3 years after retiring. What about the millions who lived off the system most of their lives? We who consistently worked for decades helped pay their way. And it's not about finding a better place than the U.S., it's about finding something affordable that we're happy enough with. And my retirement income is already secured, just waiting for it to start at 55, and waiting for my 15 yr old dog to die. Maybe you resent my having options with my FedEx pension. I worked hard for a long time to have that way out. It was more important to me than having a nice home in a nice neighborhood with all the toys. If you didn't plan for an eventual escape valve, opting for keeping up with the Joneses instead, that's your fault, not mine. Being American means having the freedom to live wherever I want, as long as I can afford to and satisfy residency requirements. And I'll pay as I go per healthcare, living in an area where walking instead of driving is the norm for most, eating fresh foods, generally a healthier lifestyle.

We have wine in Food City.... 10 years ago you would have been run out of the state for even bringing that up. 26 states have some form of "medicine" passed. 10-E-C knows the revenue we are missing. We have ZERO income tax and could put a lot of farmers to work for green jobs

I'm part Cherokee.... they were a peaceful nation state till the white men showed up with the guns and stole the land......fair and square.

I can agree with that statement but Tennessee is in the heart of the bible belt and not likely to pass something as progressive as medical weed. It will take many more states or federal legalization before that happens. It's good you are proud of your native heritage but not likely to help you in your political aspirations as that part of the country is as racially divided as it gets.

Again for the record I will LOSE this election. It's about the principle. The gentleman from Michigan is the one who the torch will be passed because the "RINOS" want it that way. I love my job most days and Mr FedEx is ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY correct. I like working for Uncle Fred. The machine works... much more than government.

We are in an economically depressed area of the country, especially now that the war on coal has taken it's toll.

At FedEx none of us work as individuals, but without the individual effort the TEAM fails. The pilots have a union.... good for them. We never missed a beat.

I survived the brown out of 97.... we never missed a beat.

Now here it comes.... I have put this bait out before.

I was fired in 1994 after not missing a single sick day in 2.5 years. TBI, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation called me for an interview on 19 Dec.

The senior and I didn't get along and there were a couple of full time routes come open. We have all worked for "shady" managers. He posted a full time route and I was number one on seniority....all those years ago.

I left a full time job, had two small kids in diapers and was on food stamps to feed my kids on part time hours working for a fortune 200 company.

I bid on the route, (short posting ;) ) went to the dr and got a note. When they asked me I told the TRUTH.

Then senior left shortly there after but when push came to shove.... I still love my job most days. We provide a SERVICE to our customers and we ALL have to work together for the purple machine to work.

Happy stay cation. I have two lovely ladies pool side and I pecking on the keyboard.

I hope I can mark one item off the buck list tonight. Be safe when you blow stuff up.

We can all agree to disagree. It's America after all.

VanT does the "nanny state" you talk about include Social Security and Medicare and the ACA.? I've encountered countless individuals like yourself you who stake out a claim for 'nanny state" benefits but at the same time condemn those they believe are not entitled to them . If you have such contempt for the "nanny state" then remember one thing. You do not have to accept those benefits. In addition you whined ceaselessly about wrongs that were done to you by the pension plan but in the same breath brag about the quality lifestyle it will bring to you later in life. Just one contradiction after another.

Let's get something cleared up. Socialism is a central government or governing body owns industry and the means of production and the fruits of that production are then shared equally by the people. Social Security is the socialization of risk, which simply means risks are shared by society as a whole, not by individuals. Not the same thing(currently reading a very authoritative book on SS). And it's not "contempt" I have for helping people who truly need it. It does bother me when able bodied make a lifestyle out of government assistance, while our progressive leaders continue to spend with abandon, telling those willing to work they must shoulder the burden. If I contribute for a lifetime, and remember my contributions 30 years ago were worth much more adjusted for inflation, I should expect a monthly check for my efforts. Are you against the elderly getting an old age pension? Really? If you crunch the numbers you'd also see that your SS won't provide much of a living here, but overseas it's serious money. And with today's technology you can watch American tv, listen to American radio, have live video conversations with loved ones, etc anywhere with a decent internet connection. You can stay here and wail how everything is so unfair, or you can do something about it.

Obviously you're not going to do anything about it Instead you'll expect somebody else to keep your benefit program going here in the states and all the while if you have any tax liability in your adopted country you'll be paying it to that country not the U.S. yet you're the guy who bitches the loudest about what is wrong with the system yet stands to benefit quite handsomely . Oh by the way the entire U.S. entitlement program comprises just 1.7% of the entire U.S. budget. What's the big cost driver....the military including keeping military assets in foreign countries to keep them safe and secure which might just include the country you're going to. And the Trump platform to it's credit will insist that those nations pay for their own defense . If successful the living where you're going to might not be so cheap or as secure.

Actually if you Google "what percentage of the Federal Gov't budget are entitlements" you'll see it's close to 14%. But please don't forget the ever growing servicing of our debt interest as a big chunk of our budget too. You point out that I'll expect others to keep MY benefit program going. Doesn't that apply to ALL retirees who aren't working? And as a U.S. citizen I'll be responsible for income taxes owed to our gov't. And many countries collect taxes via a VAT, so basically when I spend money there their gov't gets a cut. You really need to work on your research. But keep working until you drop to keep the U.S. Dollar strong, I'm counting on you! :)

Vantexan, this is Meat speaking.

As usual your statistical data is inaccurate.

You're the one always going after me about leaving the country. Thanks to FedEx I won't be living the good life but will be comfortable. Isn't that the idea, to live decently after decades of hard work? Pretty tough to do in the States between high prices and small pensions.

Van texans concerns about the federal deficit are self serving. He plans to live in another country , has worries that the U.S. government will default resulting in a full blown depression which means that the entitlement and benefit checks will stop flowing to the third world nation he has chosen to live in. Personally I couldn't care less about where he chooses to live, Lower Slobovia for all I care but it wouldn't be the place you would want to be if there is a default with a global monetary collapse and third world currency would be the first to become worthless.
