1. Always fill out an injury report (on the clock by the way) if there is any doubt.

2. No manager or sup. is qualified to give medical advice (even though they think they could work at the Mayo Clinic)

3. IF you do fill out an injury report make sure you make copies of EVERYTHING.

a coworker asked me if he was a doctor. They sent me back to work 10 minutes later saying I looked fine. I just feel like I’d be punished if I filed a report

An injury like that could have long term affects that become more apparent later on.
After you tell management i believe you have until the next day or so to request them to take you to their doctor/emergency room.
They dont like reporting accidents because their insurance goes up. Sooooo, dont trust them when they send you to that lil " waiting room" cuz you said you got hurt.
Ask for a shop steward and dont answer any of their work related or personal questions.

i have been at ups 8.5 years and the other day i did something stupid. Cleaning bulk sweep a 70 pound package hit me in the head. I wasn’t unconscious or anything but I was definitely lightheaded for 2 hours or more. I told managers and they brought me to sit down for 10 min. I wanted to get back to work because I was getting anxious and I didn’t want to make a big deal of it. I had a huge bump on my head. How big of a mistake did I make by not filing an accident report? The manager himself said I looked fine so I felt a little intimidated.

center manager's are not doctors . My first center manager tricked me for the first three years saying he was cirtified to give me my DOT physical instead of missing work for the test. Everything was going fine until I asked a co-worker why DOT requires a prostate exam .

remember this and remember it well. i fell or got injured doing "what the hell ever". And I need to go to the medical center to get checked out. IF YOUR MANAGER OR SUP SAYS NO OR SIT DOWN FOR A WHILE AND SEE. PULL OUT YOUR PHONE AND DIAL 9-1-1. THEN LET THE CERTIFIED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS HANDLE IT. BECAUSE IF YOUR MANAGER SAYS NO OR ANYTHING YOU THE EMPLOYEE REPORTED IT TO UPS SO YOU DID YOUR JOB BY REPORTING IT. SO AT THAT POINT ITS OUT OF THERE HANDS AND IN THE CERTIFIED MEDICAL PERSONNEL HANDS. then get a lawyer and sit home watching porn or drinking beer until your lawyer says come back to work on workers comp.

Will ups would of blamed you and most likely fired you. However from an injury stand point you most likely could of had a concussion. The manager should of sent you to get checked out

I think I concussed myself when I first started ....old 500 ...wood shelves ... unloading out the back door ...hit my head so hard saw stars ....lmao ... deep gash on forehead .... ya I learned after that

Did that one also ...lol...pouring rain ...miss judged the distance stepping out of the truck ....o boy ...finished the day ... major break ...put me on desk duty ..forget the name they call it .... had the Dr put me back 2 full duty 2 weeks early .... was going bonkers in there

i was down 8 weeks and gained 15 pounds
