Who told you it was tentative? I’ve olny heard it was in principle.

This is from the teamsters website

Once these Supplements are resolved there will be a meeting of all local unions known as the “two-person committee” (two officers and/or agents from each Local Union representing UPS) to review the tentative agreement.

This is UPS.

A settlement in principle here.
It means nothing.
We had a strike authorization vote only to keep the vote no’s happy.
We have an agreement in principle to keep the customer happy.
Do we or do we not have a master agreement, without supplements, riders or addendums?

An incubent would not need political posturing in front of the company.
But it would after almost losing the last election when one of the solid vote generators jumps ship during contract of an already hostile membership. Or I could be wrong.

The only issue was political posturing at the negotiating table. Do it all you want in the proper forum.
