Living longer and the strain it puts on society

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Except Korea and maybe Germany.
The USA is very transparent with a strong and free media.
China is probably the worst hit in the world in raw numbers but the individual there, as in all Socialist and Communist countries, is irrelevant.
Last I had looked Germany per capita numbers were a decent amount higher.

Korea did well though. But I don’t think Americans would go for being locked in their homes and knowingly tracked everywhere.

ok. Then let's start in the the prisons; death row and those serving life sentences. See how many take the option, before asking the general public to do likewise.
You think the government should kill prisoners but don’t think the average citizen should be free to kill themself? Doesn’t seem like a conservative viewpoint to me.

I think the world is finally going to put its foot down on China’s lab and animal market safety.

Every country has been tiptoeing around every issue with them because of the clout they bring to international trade and manufacturing. We’ve since learned that their animal viruses can harm us and our economies a lot more than making their communist leaders angry could. So we’ll act.
When you say "we'll act" do you honestly think your dim friends will?
All I've seen and heard from your camp is defend China, trash Trump.

Germany actually looks better than USA in every way you can look at it.
Their success is attributable to two things:
  1. Targeted and strategic testing
  2. Much higher ratio of nurses to general population
Below is a story, albeit from a liberal rag, that outlines Germany's approach and success.
Germany's exemplary COVID-19 response
Germany tested and traced aggressively, and because of prior planning did not face any shocking shortages of tests, ventilators, personal protective equipment and ICU beds, among other necessary elements of a modern health system, let alone modern society. More profoundly, Germany, despite the deep political and social divisions endemic to any Western democracy, has widespread consensus on the severity of the pandemic and the strategy to fight it.

My suggestion to first start in the prison system was to lessen the number of inmates, thus freeing up more space for social distancing.
Which many liberal lawyers are now starting to sue for.
