Starting wage is a waste of time.
It's a great weekend for boozing it up. Think all I have on hand is some wild turkey.

I don't necessarily recommend it, but if you like whiskey/bourbon it's worth a try. I'm not much of a beer guy, do like hard ciders though.

KING Of GIFS
A heads up should've been given. It's easy to lay blame and it's easy to speculate. But to attack me and say I should be thrown in jail and all the other nonsense is ridiculous the news article was completely one sided. And guys on here who have worked at UPS for years are taking what UPS has released in the article as gospel.

It would have been easy to rectify this

Local 25 should have made a statement

Damage is done now

Lol what?

Seasonal employees had their entire checks drained by the union. That is fact.
And that is bad press. Especially the week before Christmas when most customers are giving us treats and tips and thanking us for what we do. Of course the Union does not consider PT as a real Union member worthy of Union wages or benefits.

REBEL SCUM!

So, we are blaming all union as scum???

And, yes, it is true that the seasonal workers money was drained. This is a serious union issue that need to be resolve but have nothing to do with other union members.

This is a serious black eye on all Unions. Peoples perceptions are their reality. Just another argument against Unions just in it for themselves and not the members.

Were they told of the initiation?

This was a complete bait and switch.

We're they not handed a paper saying they would pay $32 a week towards their $500 owed, with retroactuve dues coming out when the $500 was paid off? If so, someone working 6 weeks of peak could pay $192 to the union and probably be done with UPS and the Teamster's forever. $192 isn't terrible for someone making a few grand over 6 weeks, cause it sounds like the had the opportunity to work some OT.

Instead, they got the full $500 taken out and now that they've paid the full amount, they will also start paying Local 25's crazy $54 a month for an $11 an hour job. Potentially, instead if $192 for six weeks work, the temporary employee could be hit for $554 for a 6 week temp job.

If Local 25 is that hard up for money they sould set up a Payday Loan business in the employee parking lot...I'm sure some of these guys have a few more dollars they could squeeze out of them.
