Im going to start my 30 days next week and I’m reading other threads here and I’d like to understand certain terminology. People are talking about X number of clicks.
    1. What does clicks mean and how do you go over them?
    2. Does making scratch basically mean not going over Orion’s time and mileage?
    3. Should I always follow trace and only brake it for airs and pick ups?

    Thank you
  2. Clicks are a 100th of hour that you are over or under. . For example 25 = 15 minutes.

Chances of making scratch as a new driver is slim and none unless you drive like hell and skip breaks. Good luck--stay safe.

Ask around and find out who among the current drivers qualified on that route. They will have a ton of helpful info for you, including the best way to run the route. You don’t have to follow Orion 100%.

Time studies were done 30-40 years ago in almost all areas. Scratching a route is like putting eyeballs on the Lochness monster

I recommend to the OP that he wear boots in the morning , then bust out the running shoes once he gets to his first stop

I don't know if they issue newbies shorts. If so, UPS socks will be needed.

Not worried about that part because it was 21 y old kid who never set foot in his truck until start time. Took lunch everyday to actually eat an complained to the center all the time. I’m surprised they even let him finish his 30 days.

Once qualified yes but I ain’t doing none of that during my 30. I’ll be in my truck as it’s being loaded and who cares about food.

Better clock out and not scan for your lunch or you will be disqualified.

With so much emphasis on “ safety “ lately I would i would think working safe/no accidents for 30 days would be enough to get qualified...SHAME ON YOU MANAGEMENT! @Maple Grove MN Driver is right! YOU are the ENEMY!
