Those locals should have had that right.

It's not for you to say otherwise, just becuase their strike may effect you.
Your local voted in majority to pass the contract......and like you said your just upset on how the contract affects you..........just to clarify a union means we all stand together whether it's to pass a contract or strike

Annoy a liberal today. Hit them with facts.

The majority did not have a say in their supplements.

You just had to have your pay raise and retro.

You just couldn't wait and back your fellow brothers and sisters in their fight?

Starting wage is a waste of time.

We all had a say. You just chose to back a group out for a political agenda instead. A group that put themselves before members. A group trying to smear the good name of the Teamsters. If you wanted a better supplement, elect new local executives. But that's not what this is really about is it?

I wouldn't expect you to do anything that would prove us correct.

Their SAY was NO.

Hoffa over ruled them.

So Hoffa's say is what counted.

He didn't give a crap about their say.

You don't give a crap about their say.

1. VIOLATE COPYRIGHTS. Copying and pasting an entire article, story or any other copyrighted materials here is a no-no because that's AGAINST COPYRIGHT LAW! It's okay to post small excerpts and/or your own comments and a link to the original work. If you find copyright laws too restrictive feel free to start a thread in the Current Events forum debating the merits of Copyright laws.

2. THREATEN or HARASS OTHERS. You are free to add members to your ignore list if they annoy you. You are also free to report them if they have offended you. Threatening or harassing others is not allowed, even if you think they deserve it.

3. BE CREEPY. Protect privacy, everyone's privacy. You wouldn't like it if you discovered that someone else had posted your name, your face, or a pic of your Mom here. That's creepy, don't be creepy.

4. THWART LANGUAGE FILTERS. Using spaces between letters, strange characters or misspellings to get around the language filters to post filtered words is annoying. Your vocabulary is bigger than that. Curse words are not okay. We know you know what that means.

5. SPAM. If we wanted Spam we'd buy it in a can.
  • Posting promotional content, affiliate links, or selling stuff is spam.
  • Posting links to your own website, blog, or other self promotional stuff in your signature is spam.
6. CALL SOMEONE A "POOP HEAD". You may be correct about the composition of their head, but don't make disparaging remarks or derogatory comments about other members. Debate the issue; not the person. That means no name calling, okay?

7. TROLLING. What is trolling? Making extreme rude, disparaging or inflammatory comments just to get an emotional response. If you see someone "trolling" please use the report link to alert the moderators/troll catchers.

So let me sum that up for you strikes don't guarantee better contracts and cost union jobs

Amen.

And, let's reflect on that for a minute.

The 97 strike came at an opportune time. The labor "climate" was right.

The issue of part-time jobs.... was an underlying issue.

Ups thought they could call Ron Carey's (perceived) bluff.

Even though a good time was had by all ;)....

Members still crossed the picket line.

It took years to straighten out most of the 22.3 language.

And we are still dealing with (resulting) pension issues.

TDU would rather have put Yellow out of business and called it a day.

It's funny you say that.

The vocal members in freight, have a saying they (always) fall back on.

"I was looking for a job when I came here, so shut them down".

In essence, they are no different than certain people at Ups. They are out for themselves.

Those 3 locals were swindled into a political agenda. It's unfortunate they couldn't see it. Sorry but you screwed 95% other the other locals.
Those 3 locals we're screwed as well as the other thousands of members who were lied to about this BS of a contract!! A lot more than 3 locals were screwed and it wasn't political!! Unless your in these locals YOU HAVE NO CLUE!!
it was a low point in teamsters history to have members vote not count!! Your part of the clues less crew in New England!! I would never want your vote to not count!! ONE AGAIN THAT'S A LOW POINT IN TEAMSTERS HISTORY!

Oh I do care! I just don't give a crap about the 3 "clowns" that have a political agenda.
What does it mean to "have a political agenda"?
Who doesn't in this arena?
Why is it supposed to be taboo to aspire to be more?
What makes these people heretics to want a shot?

I'm sure the same thing was said about Hoffa in the late 90's, when he had nothing more than name recognition on his resume.

When you put yourself and your political career before the members, your done.

...and this has changed when...and how?

The stock market continues to break previous records, while the middle class continues fall further and further behind.
We can longer let these corporations continue to poor mouth about a supposed "down economy".

Who, if not labor unions, will reverse this trend?

We must SAY NO TO THE STATUS QUOTE!!!

...and anybody who challenges the status quo is instantly reduced to having a "political agenda".

I'm not buying it.
Something has to change.
It is! The bullship is coming to an end. And I think it's completely irresponsible to vote for ANY change just because.

The goofball TDU candidates....

Wish they were in the envious "catbird seat".

How much money can TDU raise ?

Enough.... to win a National IBT Election ?
