Many years ago management actually hope we got a good contract because whatever we got they got.
The individual management teams we work for are mistaken if they believe their compensation will go up if Corp. succeeds on any issues with hourlies. In fact the opposite is true.
Dhl got Martin Luther King Day as a holidayMLK day and Juneteenth as holidays to me are two of the most unimportant issues this contract. I had no idea they would focus on that.
I think the union finds it as an easy win. It will sound bad if the company doesn't agree to those two days in the public eye.MLK day and Juneteenth as holidays to me are two of the most unimportant issues this contract. I had no idea they would focus on that.
Diversity.....I think the union finds it as an easy win. It will sound bad if the company doesn't agree to those two days in the public eye.
I agree the MLK and Juneteenth seem like dumb things to prioritize. For me I want. Stronger 9.5 language. Stronger sixth punch language and $50 top rate, preferably at the start of the contract. In that order. Also support the abolishment of the 22.4 position and higher p/t pay.
We gave up a lot the last two contractsWhatcha wanna give up for that ?
Nothing. The company keeps throwing around TSP so that should cover 9.5 and 6th punch issues. $50 will cover the last few years of inflationWhatcha wanna give up for that ?
People talk rates are only good minimum wages in my honest humble opinions I think a majority of the raises are going to go to the bottom part timersNothing. The company keeps throwing around TSP so that should cover 9.5 and 6th punch issues. $50 will cover the last few years of inflation
MLK and Juneteenth seem like a good start to give up. We all know of all the things he listed those two federal holidays are so much farther down the list.Whatcha wanna give up for that ?
Yes those days off would be nice and will make nice headlines for the company.MLK and Juneteenth seem like a good start to give up. We all know of all the things he listed those two federal holidays are so much farther down the list.
I'm sure that's true, but easy issues aren't important (overall). The hard issues are important.I think the union finds it as an easy win. It will sound bad if the company doesn't agree to those two days in the public eye.
That’s excellent strategy. If the company said no it could used as a launch point for other grievances in the publicI think the union finds it as an easy win. It will sound bad if the company doesn't agree to those two days in the public eye.
