Money is nice, but you are a clear example that money does not buy happiness.

Philosophically helping.
I'm as happy as I can be. I pretend to work a few hours at UPS, go home early every day thanks to high seniority, make some bucks in the market, and spend the rest of my day on stuff that matters.

Trolling is fun while I watch big green bars pop up on my brokerage platform.

Nothing wrong with making some money on the market. I do pretty well myself, most of the time. I also try to balance my life helping those less fortunate, not because I have answers or I think I’m better. But I do understand but for the grace of God go I.

Some people drive 100 miles per week. Some drive 500 miles per week. The average is 300.

Some people drive 50 miles per week. Some drive 550 miles per week. The average is 300.

Some people drive 250 miles per week. Some drive 350 miles per week. The average is 300.

They have power at home or work. All of them experience zero inconvenience from a Tesla, in winter or not.
Actually if a person drives 50 miles a week and someone else drives 550 in real terms one averages 50, the other averages 550. Mathematical averages don't apply.

No, the question about was about range and recharging in winter. That's conclusively answered.
Price is part of practicality. But it wasn't the question. They are not currently affordable for most people, as most new cars are not.
Plenty of new cars being sold for under $30k so in terms of affordability gas cars are more affordable.

They apply if one is doing social averages.

The average american driver puts on less than 300 miles per week.

Even somebody who doubles that would find an EV more convenient than gas, assuming they have power at their house.

You can't say the one driving 50 miles a week is averaging 300 miles a week because someone else is driving 550. Just doesn't work that way no matter that the average between the two is 300. If one wants to spend the money on a high priced Tesla more power to him, no pun intended. But people should beware of anyone who shoots down any criticism of anything, let alone Tesla. I just read about a guy who spent over $100k on a Tesla, decided very quickly it wasn't for him, and 5 years later still hasn't gotten his money back. Tesla has it in the fine print that the refund process must go through arbitration and in spite of that still hasn't returned his money. So buyer beware.

I didn't say that someone driving 50 miles a week is averaging 300.

Holy cow you are dense.

Correct. Most new cars are not affordable for most people.

That's why most people don't buy new cars.

Cheap gas cars are the cheapest new cars, and they are also not affordable for most.
Someone is buying them. I doubt a small percentage of the public is keeping all of the dealerships afloat. People with money usually aren't buying a $25k car.

Yes, lots of people buy new cars.

Most don't. The average person isn't anywhere close to being able to afford a new car of any kind.

So I guess I’m trying to figure out who these people are you think are going to buy EVs in droves especially Teslas. You can get a five or six-year-old Prius between $13 and $15,000 with 100,000 miles, 50 miles a gallon and drive it for probably 10 years mostly trouble free. Its math.

Yes, and you have a crappy, slow car and still have to stop for fillups.

2 million people are buying Teslas this year. Maybe you should find out why?

You are doing it wrong. If you were truly happy or successful you would spend your days trying to humiliate those unfortunates on message boards.

It doesn't matter if the average is the 300 if one is only driving 50 miles a week.
The social average between the two is 300.

You are seriously far below whatever is required for this conversation.
The average american drives less than 300 miles per week. I've proven that whether an individual does 50 miles or 550 miles, using an EV is more convenient for most people.

You just said that most people can't afford new cars, even cheap new cars. Yet you constantly say Tesla will continue to grow exponentially and far outsell other car companies eventually.
