The Teamsters think it should be 15 an hour. Is she wrong to support that?

No. But I hope Hoffa and UPS don't fool PTers into gaining a few years of slightly higher pay in exchange for selling themselves out of decades worth of FT pay by voting in a two tier system in exchange.

I'm in the northwest. Cost of living is very high here. Look at the local job listings, they all pay minimum wage.

Do you live on minimum wage? Do you think we got the rights that we have in this country by just settling for unfair wages and bad conditions?

You are enjoying your career because people before you fought for it. The unions are still fighting for it. And so am I.

If you think McDonald's is so great, why do you work at UPS? Do you live on 12$ per hour? Yeah right.

So easy for people in good situations to tell people who are struggling how easy it is. Shame on you

She might be able to get you a job dancing

How are ya on the pole

Well, I'm sorry for losing my temper and getting rude back there. I hope you all can forgive me. I just think we should work together and recognize our common situation.

I agree with the teamsters about starting at 15. That would make it possible to scrape by with two jobs until higher wages and FT is earned. Cost of living has gone up, it's just how it goes.

I wish you all well. Good night.

The only way the Teamsters agreed to letting UPS use PT employees was that they would receive roughly the same wages and benefits as FT employees. It was to protect FT jobs turning into low paying PT jobs. I am PT and make the same wages as the FT employees I work next to and a lot more then Art 22.3 (FT) employees. And now UPS wants to turn package delivery jobs into lower paying PT and FT combo jobs. See where this is going?
