Didn't say anything about reinventing anything Dave, just working for a great company and taking advantage of the opportunity that is there.
What opportunity are you taking advantage of? The chance to wield your "power" by telling people to get back to work? I mean your posts are basically laughable to any of us who have been here for years. Do you have any idea how many PT sups have come and gone with your exact attitude? Hell, I've known several drivers who went into management with your exact same corporate ladder plan.
Guess where they all are bud, I know you know the answer.
The
overwhelming majority were fired or quit. The rest are currently stuck in a never ending lateral-promotion management job and they tell me how it was the worst decision of their life. You will NEVER get above on-car supervisor without doing disgraceful and evil things in the name of the company shield. If you are willing to lie, cheat, abuse, harass, intimidate and steal from your workers then you have a fabulous future ahead of you at UPS. Judging by your posts I'm pretty certain you have no qualms about doing the things listed in the previous sentence. Pretty sad what some people will do for a paycheck these days, i'd rather be homeless.
Don't be surprised if you end up just like all my seasonal helpers for the last 4-5 years.
Helper: "The managers promised me a P/T job after Christmas, so I'm gonna bust my butt and show them what I'm capable of out here!!"
Me: "Really? That's what the guy said last year and he never got hired."
Helper: "No man, the manager promised me that he'd pull some strings and get me on the preload!"
Me: "I wouldn't trust a manager at UPS if my life depended on it."
Helper: "Really? Why?"
Me: "You'll find out."
3 weeks later -- I see the guy on my route applying for a job at the place I eat lunch at everyday. He told me UPS never called him and wouldn't return his phonecalls after Christmas eve. There is no honor left in this company and you can thank Scott Davis and the good old boys club.
