Rush Limbaugh has left the room

You mean the Mitt Romney that was our party's candidate for President at one time and is now a public enemy? That Mitt Romney? Yup, I voted for him - McCain too. Rip me to shreds!

I'm not old enough to have lived through it, but I have read quite a bit about Joe McCarthy. In the end, All-American Joe ended up being more useful to the kremlin than any single agent that they possessed during that era. By casting accusations at anybody that disagreed with him, he drew attention away from actual communists and agents that the kremlin had at the time. Additionally, he ended up ham-stringing the cause of anti-communists by turning the whole thing into a farce. And who was Joe McCarthy's right hand man? Roy Cohn, that's who. And who was Roy Cohn's protege? Donald J. Trump, who used the same bombastic rhetoric.

This isn't what made America great. And Lidbergh's actions didn't put "America First" either.
McCain.....Romney? OMG.

Yeah, I voted for them....only because I could NEVER vote for a communist Democrat....like KERRY who btw is set to wreck havoc all over again.

McCain was an openly liberal Republican. Like his daughter.

McCarthy was exactly correct. Now, how the sausage was made got ugly. But he was spot on.

Yep. You are a Liberal....that phrase bombastic rhetoric.....neocon blather.....liberal Republican stuff. You are a rino.

Still laughing at the accusation that I am a conspiracy fan.

After all those Q banners at the Capitol and the cries of "Antifa did it"

Hilarious.
I’ve never discussed qanon or accused antifa of the riots.
Meanwhile you accuse trump of inciting it but refuse to quote him inciting it.
Carry on nut job you’ll fit in with the rest of the ignorant lefties here.

The Rosenbergs were guilty and got what they deserved death. McCarthy’s methods can be debate but the overall influence the Russian revolution and communist propaganda had at the time can’t be.
Jesus Christ you are unhinged with these conspiracies that Donald Trump is some McCarthy protege because he associate with Roy Cohn a gay mob lawyer in New York.
Donald Trump built concrete sky scrapers in New York, try doing that without the mob’s approval and without reaching out through Roy Cohn at the time.
Joe didn't convict the Rosenbergs. Joe accused and demonized anybody who stood against him. Sound familiar?

And the same files that came to light after the fall of the Soviet Union that show that the Rosenbergs were guilty of espionage show that the kremlin were absolutely delighted with McCarthy's actions.

Where did I accuse Trump of inciting the riot?

Please be specific.

This is exactly the tactic used by McCarthy and Cohn... and in my opinion (can we still have those is today's America?) also by Donald Trump.

I have my liberal side, certainly. I am a Teamster. Think about that. I am a member of a labor union that owes its existence to a movement that is unabashedly and unapologetically socialist.

When I am not working or spending time with my family, I read. I am an autodidact. I read about history, science, economics, geology... pretty much anything that strikes my fancy.

I've seen this kind of blind, dogmatic obedience before. It always ends badly.

I will not be shouted down by louder, radical voices. I'm an American.
Finally.

Thanks for being honest.

You are Liberal.....Not a little.... You are or aren't. Not a little bit pregnant.....

See, all your posts indicated such and that's why you were quickly identified as leftist.

A little left or far left.......has the same effect.

A passive facilitator....just like Germans that looked the other way as Hitler rose. Russians. Italians.

You identify as a Republican......

But you are Liberal.

There it is.

I have seen this blind liberalism.....it always ends badly.

So you aren't a Teamster?

Good to know.

That's ok, I still respect the car washers and mechanics.

I am a Teamster for obvious reasons.

I DO NOT support their political views.

I vote against any Democrat. And would be good with it all going down the drain.

Not sure what car washers and mechanics have to do with anything.

Ok. But the problem with that is that I am a Republican.

Last week I saw what happened to fiscal conservative, pro-gun, pro-life Representative Adam Kinzinger when he dared to vote against Trump.

View attachment 329003

Republicans used to be a party of principles and ideas. It seems to me that it has become a party of unquestioned loyalty to an individual.

So tell me all about the koolaid. Am I part of the "devil's army"?
Speaking as a moderately liberal Democrat I congratulate you on being the FUTURE of the traditional GOP. Your party has a number of younger centrist deal makers such a Kinzinger, Sasse, Dent etc, who could rebuild the GOP if given the support needed Seventy Five year old DJT will not fade away until he torches the party he feels betrayed him. Recapturing a political majority for the GOP will not happen until it can first repair the damage the Trumplicans have done to it. He first tried to get into politics by attempting to get in with New York Democrats who completely rejected him because they knew the game he was playing.

If any person other than Trump did what Trump did in Georgia or did it in a state other than Georgia it would have landed them in jail. But, this was Georgia and this was Trump and chances are nobody down there will standup to him which in turn will likely get him the nomination in 2024 no matter how many creditors he stiffs or even if he's personally bankrupt. And I doubt that mainstream GOP will be able to stop him despite the fact that he lost the House, lost the Senate and lost the White House. A middle America ticket of Sasse/ Kinzinger in 2024 would be a harder ticket to beat than another Trump/ Whoever's Dumb Enough slate but the GOP won't agree to it because they aren't radical enough and act like civilized global leaders.

Who do you think managed to get the National Labor Act and Taft Hartley and the right to collective bargaining passed over bitter GOP opposition? If it were not for the Democrats today you WOULDN"T EVEN HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE A TEAMSTER. Why because labor unions would have been OUTLAWED! What do you have to say about the Democrats now?

“Meanwhile, waiters buzzed around our table. They seemed to anticipate Limbaugh’s every wish, refreshing our drinks, serving unasked-for delicacies, periodically checking to make sure everything was exactly to Limbaugh’s satisfaction.”

Chafets later offered this by way of explanation: “Dinner was winding down, and I called for the check. It tickled Limbaugh to be taken out to eat on The New York Times. A few weeks later, he sent me a copy of an interview with Jeremy Sullivan, a waiter at the Kobe KobeClub in New York,” he wrote.

“Sullivan told a reporter that Limbaugh, a fellow Missourian, was the biggest tipper in town: ‘He likes to throw down the most massive tips I’ve ever seen. The last few times his tips have been $5,000.’ When I read this, I felt a stab of guilt toward the hyperattentive staff at Trevini. If I had only known, I would have let Limbaugh leave the tip.”

This was Limbaugh’s habit. And yet, some were angry that it was his money on the giving end of the gratuity.

In 2014, The Dallas Morning News ran a short piece on Merritt Tierce, a local author whose debut novel described her experiences working at a steakhouse. The anecdotes were taken from real life, but The Morning News’ Chris Vognar wrote that “her best story, to my mind, didn’t make it into the book”

“Tierce used to get some high rollers at the restaurant, including conservative talk show mogul Rush Limbaugh. Tierce waited on Limbaugh twice,” Vognar wrote.

“Both times Limbaugh left her $2,000 tips on modest-size checks, once with twenty $100 bills. ‘That was like blood money to me,’ says Tierce, who does not share Limbaugh’s social views.”

So she decided to put his money to good use, or really the opposite of that.

“Tierce was also executive director of the TEA Fund, which provides money to women who can’t afford to get abortions,” Vognar wrote.

“So she did the only logical thing with Limbaugh’s cash. She donated a sizable chunk of it to the TEA Fund.”

“[T]he only logical thing,” for a man who had apparently earned “blood money” by having social views that clashed with Tierce’s (and, one presumes, Vognar’s) own.

Here's the link, read the whole damn article for yourself.
I'll be waiting for all of your, "Yeah but's."

It's going to take a hell of a lot more than simply being a big tipper for you to succeed in your efforts to immortalize Rush Limbaugh And you know why? The federal minimum wage for restaurant servers in $2.13 an hour and hasn't increased in more than a decade. Now just exactly what has Rush Limbaugh done about that?

You fools are on track to majorly friend up. Reparations? OMG.

Don't worry about Trump. I'm not.

Your margins are so thin as to count on Harris for a tie. And a handful in the House. It won't take much.....and when common folks finally wake up.......and not tolerate voting fraud....Biden is not for long.....Harris will openly use racism......(hers).....far left support is in the single digits. Keep those west coast riots coming.......defund the police......openly support China.......kill the oil industry......smear white people......No? It's all there.

BTW,

Notice how you didn't challenge being liberal/leftist?

I've called many here communist/socialist and it never is disputed.

Like you.
I have no need to dignify your accusations.

You have criticized me for voting from McCain and Romney even though you did the same. You have criticized me for being a leftist for being a Teamster and acknowledging the socialist movements role in the creation of labor unions - and yet you are a Teamster.

To be honest, I don't take you seriously at this point.

But I live in a red state. 80%+ of my fellow drivers feel like you do. They spend their off time watching Newsmax and Fox and believe what they hear because they aren't intelligent enough to question it. So does our business Mgr and on road super. I would love to speak my mind with them but it would make for a bad situation - so I limit myself. But this is kind of fun.

Like you, they believe that China pays for the tariffs. They believe Trump built the wall and Mexico will pay for it. They believe that Trump divested himself of his businesses because they saw a lot of paper on a table. They believe that Trump had a health care plan. They believed Trump when he said he was working on a middle class tax cut a few days before the midterm election. They believe whatever they hear. Lol.

Funny how many names I have been called here and yet nobody has yet to dispute the facts of my arguments.

I thought America was better than this. Patriotism has become a hollow thing nowdays.

So what you're saying is that in defense of your pseudo conservative views you for the record stand prepared to sacrifice your $40 and hour wage employer funded healthcare and your defined benefit pension plan. Is that right? If so and you want to see what you would have if you did?..... Fedex Ground. Guys working for contractors for dollar store wages and zero benefits doing exactly the same thing your doing with exactly the same skill an education level. In fact for many of them if there is a new $15 an hour minimum wage it would mean getting a pay increase.

So what? It was Cohn who prosecuted the rosenbergs and pushed for the death penalty for them. It was the most notable communist espionage trial during the red scare.

Who cares what commies take delight in?? It was important to stand against communists in the government at the time, we were at war with them.
